Yea I like the gf1.com idea, just as long as the site isn’t all colorful and with a bunch of subcategories. Keep it nice and simple and whatever you do don't get rid of the Offtopic B.S. biggrin:

My vote goes for GF1.
I have long believed that a "clean slate" would provide multiple benifits to AA. With a new design and content you can expect to see traffic surge, and not all of that traffic will be noobs guys. Either way, where we not all unknowlagable at some point? You will see the elimination of the ban lists and a more open and free gaming community. This will make huge changes in the "attacks" AA has come to accept. While you will never be rid of personal differences, a positive outlook and forgivness can do wonders. The marketing benifits speak for themselves. It is true you may loose some of the first AAers to either laziness or bitterness, but I think that the new comers will more than make up for those who have little to contribute or are here for the purose of conversation. ** Thats not a cheap shot, so don't take it as one. This site is much more than an off-topic section guys, and most of the visiters to this site are looking for info, mods, maps, or news. Most could care less about Brittneys new boyfriend.** As an individual that has spent most of my time in the Art section, I can assure you that if you need something you need only ask BS. I cannot think of anyone with skills that I personally know who would not be willing to help. While this site has become quite an institution and carries with it a rich and interesting history, that in no way should suggest that it is incapible of change or advancement. |
Perosnally I say stay AA.com, as bad as I am, and a few others, all the "noobs" and spammer will ruin all the friendships we have made, like the one I and STATIC have. Oh well, I guess everything comes to an end. annoy:

Can't we stay aa.com and cover all...
aa.com sounds alot cooler to say to people. |

I really don't give 2 shits one way or the other. Maybe we'll get less weirdos if we change the name. |

I think a new site would be good.
I'd be willing to help with modding issues and such. |

If you need contacts with 2015 or Vivendi Universal, let me know.
I've worked with the PR reps for Half-Life 2 and Men of Valor - also worked directly with the President of 2015, Tom Kudirka. |

gf1.com
groundforce1....... It doesn't roll off the tongue easily (or the fingers, for that matter!). If the site kept its name, but covered all games, would that be so bad? |

Okay just to clarify on a few things:
1) If you are an active member, your l337 join date and post count will not be wiped. I may prune inactive members tho. 2) You won't have any trouble finding the new website, as http://www.alliedassault.com will then be pointing to the new website. 3) I didn't know that groundforce was a fking gardening show. I think I've asked before but is there (seriously) a better domain name? n00bsattack.com isn't exactly cool. (wait...) Now, Gerard brought up a good point. I won't be able to RUN the website. I have the necessary tools in place to make running the website easy, but someone will have to actually run different sections for me; many of you volunteered for mod position, but the website is not just about the forum. That means hunting for news on the web, contacting PR personnels or at least get onto their 'list' so you get insider info sent to your email (you wont have any trouble with that, if necessary I could do that for you); review and approve mod/map files (for details you may ask dragonwraith or proteus, I've made that pretty damn easy); run the squad list and prepare for drama, host tourney etc etc. And finally, who's going to do it? For each game that we cover (and we will at least cover MoH:X, CoD:X and Battlefield:X, and very likely more), we will need at least one person to do the above. oOo: |
i'll review anything you need me to. I had some experience from approving mod files from http://www.mohfiles.com . I'll be glad to help in any way possible.
|
Id like to try some doom 3 and pacific assault coverage, im keeping a close eye on their progress anyway.
