That explains why I'm also looking at purchasing or renting servers that are in Central Europe.

Best bet for a European server would be in the UK.
Cuz no matter if i join a German, Polish or Romanian
server (which is a lot closer than England for me), i still
get a better ping on UK servers.

If you want advice when it comes to server providers,
just shout and ill dig a few decent, cheap ones up for ya.

its not just their house hold connections , the over all status of the giant lines in the UK are amazing, their pipe lines are 2 x the size ofm ost other country's.

I used multiplay for months - it was definately the best UK GSP i tryed - although you dont have FTP access - it has hundreds of mods and maps to choose from. They have a good server control panel called clan forge. With the server you get a 50meg webspace, (php, 1 sql database) and a teamspeak channel (with equal numbers of slots to the server) Support is literally brilliant - always seems to be admins on the mirc channel.

gamedaemons has great servers, but cmon for 155$/month for a CoD server...for 50 bucks more you can rent your own 2.8GHZ Dual Xeon with 1GB of ram dedicated box from theplanet or something

Do they give you ssh access so you don't need to FTP? Or were you on a windows machine?

Anyhow, £145.00/mth (~$265) USD for a "lite" server is a &*$#( bit steep oOo: Minimum contract length is 3 months too, wtf.

P9S is good, except that on the servers you dont really have 100% control. you cant access the logs, and ban files to ban/unban people. you have to get an admin to do it.

no kind of ftp or ssh is given (the new version of clan forge should have ftp built into it.

It depends what your looking for - dedi servers or single game servers...

u can rent the servers for only 1 month - dedi servers have the 1 month choice and so do single servers.
