even if religion is anti gay,who cares? you dont need the churches approval to get married, in fact, it isnt even a religious ceremony. You can go to city hall and get the license there. It is a public right. These people are citizens, they pay taxes, they can get married, end of discussion. To deny these people a public service based on their sexual orientation is discrimination.

Religion = biggest fuckup ever to be introduced, started more shit than enough in the world.

I would also like to add that there may be a genetic basis for same-sex
attraction: what are we to do then ? Treat it like a disease ? Tolerate it ?
I believe in acceptance/tolerance. No harm is done and your liberties are
not being impeded on by their choice of partners so ... suck it up! ;-)

council of trent bitches -- "If any one shall say that matrimony is not truly and properly one of the Seven Sacraments of the Evangelical Law, instituted by Christ our Lord, but was invented in the Church by men, and does not confer grace, let him be anathema."

Yeah, you're correct about saying that you don't need the church to get married.

I am really not that religous, but I like to be fair. Religion is a concept. Concepts dont start shit. Men start shit. Do you really think there wouldnt be war without religion?

Seems like a bunch of hte anti-religion peeps here are just looking for ways to justify their beliefs to themselves. I will give you the same advice you like to give about gay marriage. Believe what you want and let others believe what they want unharrassed. As long as they arent pushing hteir views on you, leave it alone. Dont be the hypocrit.

Yeah, you're correct about saying that you don't need the church to get married.

Wow. They were narrow-minded peons then and they still are now: not really
surprising but quite a disappointment when you consider the progress we've
made. Comparing these "beliefs" with those of other religions keeping women
under control, you have to wonder if some bullshit wasn't added there too. If
you truly believe everything you've read from these often-modified scriptures,
do us a favor and shoot yourself. So much fucking fighting over something so
inconsequential to everyone but those concerned with the union. Is your God
really that juvenile or is it simply the "wise men" keeping the populace under
control ?

Pyro 12-12-2004 01:18 PM

Men created religion, so therefore the concept must be wrong as well.

SoLiDUS 12-12-2004 01:42 PM

Some notable ideas/concepts were included, but the bad far outweighs the good.

There is no point in trying to convince you that my beliefs are legit. Narrow minded you are as well. I'm such an idiot for trying to explain things with catholicism backing me up.

Chill dudes

Coleman has chosen the life he wants, and we should appreciate his choices (well unless like accepted his choice to murder or shit liek that. As im sure coleman appreciates our choices in life.

Personallty I believe homosexuality is a sin, but so is many things I do. I am no better than any gay man, but what the do is wrong to me. I just don't think gays should get any of the benifits of being married, becasue there is something to be said for a man and a woman in normal relationship. It is like how the military pays more attention to high school graduates, than homeschool kids, or people with a GED. The military rewards you for graduating high school.

Will someone please explain this marriage tax break please? I am dying to hear.

Madmartagen 12-12-2004 05:25 PM

I think people should be more concerned with the divorce rate and mass of homeless and abandoned children there are. This whole crap about gay marriages is pathetic. This issue is a damned zit on the ass of issues in our country today.

This is the point: if there's a GENETIC BASIS for same-sex attraction, how can it
be a fucking SIN !? What has God to say about this ?

I agree: there are more pressing matters to deal with... but they don't
have the same mass appeal and entertainment value. mwah:
