Thanks to everyone's best friend, tony, i can share the recording with you all. It's not the best we've ever played nor the worst. There are some great spots, and there are some shakey spots, but i'm overall pleased with it considering it's only highschool students.

Listen to some of the improvs during some of the songs...especially BLUE (second song i believe)

well, i used to play trumpet. after 2 years of the instructor/leader and drum majors and tuba section begging me to play, ive transferred over. i play bass guitar so the scale is easy, the concert scales are the same fingerings as trumpet (just different notes) so its a pretty easy conversion.
whats my take on what now? band camp? band camp sucks the last few days cause its all marching the whole day, no just playing, marching.

lol my brother goes to me :" drew: me and carlo [his room mate] have boners. I want her to sing with my cock in her mouth."

imported_Grim_Reaper 02-14-2005 08:03 PM

very very good. just a few thoughts:
1. if there is a bass player, turn up the volume!
2. the fill-ins were great!
3. the drummer was pretty good, i mean there isnt much of a solo you can do with a jazz song. going all out on the drum set wouldnt be too blues or jazz like.
4. how many trumpets are there? they over power the whole band.
5. singer was amazing! how old is she?

1. bass player didn't have a mic. He was only amped while all the other instruments were mic'ed for the most part
2. it's not the best they've ever played. Some stuff they do is better -- Soul Vaccination
3.
4. 6 trumpets.
5. she's a senior in highschool...so either late 17 or early 18.

imported_Grim_Reaper 02-14-2005 08:07 PM

you guys were wicked good. the trumpets can really hit those high notes!

The track is just a recording of our night; it's not a full blown-out top quality CD. We got it for free so I doubt the dude would want to splice it up into seperate tracks.

I'm from Easton, PA which is about 1.5 hours north of Philly along the PA/NJ border. It's also 30mins east of Allentown if you know where that is.

Oddly enough, I do. A good bit of my Dads family is in Allentown, and his sister lives in Philly (albeit the ghetto)

That'd be awesome to put it in one of your maps. I would suggest Blue (ballad with the flugel horn solo) or Norwegian Wood? Some of the others are oOo: after my analysis.

you be the judge, something that would have been written and popular in the early 1940s, if theres nothing youve done and have recorded thats fine too, just whichever one you like most rock:

might be a while til you see it in the map tho, at least not til we got more mappers

early 40s would be Sing, Sing, Sing but i'm not sure if you want to put our recording in it; it's not that clean (first song). If you want to put that specific song in there I suggest getting your hands on a Glen Miller Orchestra or Brian Setzer Orchestra version.
