And if the teacher didn't freak out like I suggested, the kids wouldn't have any reason to make a show out of him. Yes I know suspensions = vacations but sometime's they do harm, mostly through the parents. They were just random thoughts proving that there are other methods to deal with a situation using rational thought rather than freaking out. I'm sure an actual teacher would have had enough experience to come up with reasonable methods to deal with punk kids, and to save yourself from becoming the root of laughter.

In an ideal world the student woulda hit the teacher, the teacher woulda no sold it, tore off his shirt ran about the room shaking his fists around while noselling the beating the student was laying on him, turned kicked the student in the face and dropped a leg over his throat then getting the three count for the win.

I don't understand this shit, I don't ever remember seeing any kind of physical/verbal stand off between a teacher and a student in any of the schools I went too...There of course were a couple of raised voices, kids talking back, etc - But it never escalated past that.

I don't think it's all about discipline either, because despite the way I act on the interweb (Asshole #1 biggrin: ), I know how to handle people and respect them in "real life"...I also dislike confrontation, and try to avoid it whenever possible....And my parents never physically disciplined me past 4 years old....

I can't remember them ever doing it, anyway....

I think it's all about what the child witnesses the parents doing, if they see their father being an asshole to someone, no matter what the context, it's going to reflect on them.

That reminds me of some class I had...It was either a programming class or html in highschool, Victor might remember this because i think he was in most of my classes like that.

I forgot how it went, but my friend Wesley had porn in his email and was checking it on my screen I believe and started printing the shit out in the printer in the class. The teacher found out and found out it came from my machine or something and I had to go to the office for printing and going on porn. I didn't get in trouble because I believe they found out Wesley went into his hotmail account on my account by checking backlogs of what I do on the computer.

I dont see the big deal, if the kid doesnt want to stand, who the fuck cares? Its his decision to make. Im used to standing all the time, but if for any reason i didnt want to, i would like to think i can make that decision w/o some fag getting in my face about his believes, his pride and/or his bullshit sense of respect. Teachers dont get respect, they need to earn it just like everyone else. Im not offended by anyone sitting or not saluting during these ceremonies, its their right to do so. Disagree. It's a form of rebellion and disrespect to all who died fighting for their respective countries. Want to show signs of "free thought"?, write an essay on why you feel you shouldn't stand instead of disrupting those who are honoring their Country or simply walk out quietly. If i were in that class, chances are i would've taken objection to the kid and may have done something about it AFTER the Anthem.
