9 make a music cd.

Drew 03-07-2005 09:59 PM

Yes Nero 6 and yes a data CD.

If you make an audio CD, it converts the MP3s to CDA format for burning.

Might want to get in touch with Alpine or read your manual and learn how to use folders.

Yeah mna i know i can search for files on my HU....it acually has a file search button ffs

Drew 03-07-2005 10:14 PM

I think perhaps we confused one another...

I made an assumption I shouldn't have...

Most of the problems with MP3 head units has to do with encoding beyond 30 or so songs. This can be circumvented by placing music in folders.

But if you are getting a straight up error on the first track.. Google rock:

Thats it man! once i put over 30 songs on a cd it stops working.

Drew 03-07-2005 10:19 PM

Try putting 20 songs in a folder and see if that works.

I'd still call Alpine or Google for some answers. You shouldn't have to do that.

Judas 03-07-2005 10:23 PM

ive been looking around for one lately ... im too poor to spend 300 bucks on a walkman ... ive been looking at the creative ones since they are much cheaper for about the same amount of storage.

milla : try burning it at the slowest speed.

Slowest speed eh? roger that. I'll try slowest speed without putting them in folders....than ill put them in folders if that doesnt work. Because i made one cd with like 41 songs and it wroekd beautifully...so i was like wtf fuck it ill put more on...well when i added about 70 it doesnt work anymore. So i dunno

Milla 03-07-2005 10:41 PM

Slowest speed = 4x for my burner....thats to slow me thinks...12, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, and 52 ( which i burned at last time)

Still an insult to them to be powered off a portable though, those need real power.

Pyro 03-08-2005 08:46 AM

Where would I be able to find one used...actual ipods, not this shuffle one?

03-08-2005 11:58 AM

wow 120 songs is more than enough for me, and the shuffle costs 99$, alot less than 512mb players @ newegg.

03-08-2005 05:41 PM

Maplegyver 03-08-2005 05:49 PM

the shuffle is crap.

lasagna 03-08-2005 06:21 PM

seriously , this thing is a fucking rip off. the mini costs 200 and and can hold
8.3 times as more songs...for the price it should hold at least 500 songs..fuck apple.

03-08-2005 06:23 PM

you guys are retarded...99$ is the best price ive seen for a 512mb mp3 player, and ive checked newegg.

Judas 03-08-2005 08:08 PM

i dont think its such a bad buy really ... im leaning towards a 512 mg one myself cause i dont really see myself listening 5/10/20/xx gigs of music ... one that has a interchangeable memory card would be perfect for me really.

Doctor Duffy 03-08-2005 08:52 PM

I keep my opinion mean and clean. And mini's are for pansies.
-It was a birthday gift, so I dont care what the price is either way. No screen doesnt bother me at all, because unlike you guys, I listen to my music, and have ears, and dont really need a screen to tell me who the band is, because god, I already know. I wasnt showing off that I had 107 songs, as the 512 only holds 120, just saying I have used up most of it. I only have my favorite songs, not all the craptastic ones you guys put on yours just simply for the song count, which to a lot of you seems like its more important the music itself.Geeks.

When I used a CD-player, I didnt even look at the screen anyways, kept it in my coat pocket, and when there was a song I didnt like, I felt around the for the next key, and hit it. Same for Shuffle, its nice, the controls are simplest things in the world. I have to agree though, the Shuffle thing is the worst marketing ever. I've got Shuffle in my 6 year old CD-player. Still, its there, not that I use it, only to skip amongst records (it shuffles in one record, then goes onto the next..shuffle, then next record, shuffle, then next record..so I usually shuffle it 'till I find my record, takes around 30 seconds, then turn it off, and use it like I did with a CD-player)

I still like the thing, Im in love with it, I keep it in my pocket with nothing else in it. I hate the ear-buds, though, get stupid looks.

I guess I'll just stop, now Im just kinda rambling.

Don't worry he's just a fucking dumbass....He's obviously to busy listening to his FAVORYIET SONGS STARRENG SLIPKNOT AND JACK JONSUN AND NERVANA AND KELLY CALRKSUN....

Forte 03-08-2005 10:41 PM

Dont forget to add Natural woman to you iPod Duffy

TGB! 03-08-2005 10:57 PM

Bottom Line:

The iPod Shuffle is a fucking joke. Great you have a mini mp3 player where you cant control playback nor can you see whats actually playing or have access to numerous settins and controls - what a stud you are. Nevermind that there are OTHER 1gig 512mb mp3 players (for same price) that do indeed give you everything Apple has taken from you (raped really) and called "the next best thing". . .

"Oh look I dont know what song is gonna play next even though I know what songs I played. . .its like - THE RADIO!!! WOW A RADIO THAT I CAN CARRY AROUND WITH ME! What an innovative tool. . ." -

Seriously. . .sell the fucking thing and get a used Mini or 10g iPod. . .I dont need to know what song is playing either. . .but its nice to be able to have my decision on what to listen to be based on what ALBUM and not what SONG. . .

Shalom.

Crazy Canadian 03-08-2005 11:23 PM

you people are fucknuts, you just don't like it because its a apple product that you don't like as an individual, just because you don't like it doesn't mean duffy has to like it,shuffle is a mode on it, you can still control the songs if you want and not everybody listens to like 2000 songs or has the budget for a Ipod or Ipod mini.

Tripper 03-09-2005 09:01 PM

I have a phillips flash player and it sounds like the ipod shuffle has about the same amount of extras (Next to none), and the only reason I have it and not an ipod or an ipod equivalent is clear:

Ipod = $400

Phillips p.o.s = $100

Simple as that.

It plays music, it's small, and basic. That's all I give a shit about.

Pyro 03-10-2005 07:22 AM

my brother thinks jack johnson is the greatest thing to happen to music.

Is aw the guy live at same the record man not yesterday, but the wednesday before. Some surfer guy from cali or something, just playing a guitar and singing...though it wasn't as band as the guy who is Bright Eyes.

Scorpion -]M15F1T[- 03-10-2005 09:38 AM

LOL my cell phone holds more mp3's than a shuffle! Either get an ipod or dont but the shuffle is as TGB says a poor mans alternative so u can say look i got an ipod! There are a lot better players with more features atm for the same money or a little more. Also the portable HD aspect rocks for example a mate of mine wanted a patch for a game so I download wack it on there take a walk round to his house listenin to some tunes and then transfer over to his pc rock:

6z-8-z=4(z+10) 03-10-2005 09:40 AM

i dont trust anything that dosent hold 40 gigs

jujumantb 03-10-2005 10:30 AM

Alot of people dont understand the hard drive based players are not the future of portable mp3 players, memory based is MUCH better, they just cost alot more right no for any decent amount of space. A portable hard drive is a very bad way to carry around and listen to music, load times, HD failures- prone to interference, takes lots of power to operate, large size...

Akuma 03-10-2005 03:09 PM

Show me a flash mem MP3 player that can hold 20gb of music.
