Metallica. Nirvana. (sorry Kurts voice was hardly golden). Slipknot. Creed. Live.

[quote:af934]You gotta learn how to play the drums, or the guitar, or the elctric guitar, or the bass.[/quote:af934]

And what - you think rap just pulls a bunch of funny ass lines out their ass and boom - Insta-Song? Lets see YOU develop a good beat that can actually have lyrics set to it.

[quote:af934] Plus, you gotta do it with unison to your singing, which is though, because you've only got one brain, and your mind tends to focus more on one thing than the other.[/quote:af934]

stupid: - rap artists flow with their beats and their music. . .instead of laying weak ass general bullshit. . .show us examples of these "mindless black artists". . .

[quote:af934]Rap is some shit with muscular black men insulting you[/quote:af934]

N.E.R.D. - JAY Z (he insults others) - THE PHARCYDE - WU TANG - KANYE WEST - etcetefuckingra. . .

[quote:af934]and riding their ugly cars while whores dance in the background.[/quote:af934]

Ill just come out and say it - Go fuck yourself you racist shit. . .

^^ How was calling cars ugly and having whores dance in the background racist?

edit: Also, it takes a hell of a lot longer to learn an instrument and theory and learning how to write real music (The bands I like, a lot of rock bands aren't good with their instruments) rather than learning how to learn ebonics and think up some words that ryme.

To quote Ludacris' "Word of Mouf" CD, he says:

OH NO! The FIGHT'S OUT
I'ma bout to punch yo... LIGHTS OUT
Get the FUCK back, guard ya grill
There's somethin wrong, we can't stay still
I've been drankin and bustin' too
and I been thankin of bustin' you
Upside ya motherfuckin forehead
And if your friends jump in, "Ohhh gurrlll", they'll be mo' dead
Causin confusion, Disturbin Tha Peace
Since not into lution, we run in the streets-a
So bye-bye to all you groupies and golddiggers
Is there a bumper on your ass? NO NIGGA!
I'm doin a hundred on the highway
So if you do the speed limit, get the FUCK outta my way
I'm D.U.I., hardly ever caught sober
and you about to get ran the FUCK over

[Chorus]

[Mystikal over second chorus]
BITCH! Watch out, watch out, watch out
BITCH! Watch out, watch out, watch out, move

I'm sure that was really hard. All the thought that goes into writing how you feel and having something to say. All rap isn't like this, I'm sure there's a strong 20% who writes something that they feel about something.

Um...yes. You really think "I MOVE IT LIKE DAT, YOU MOVE IT LIKE DIS, I MOVE IT LIKE DAT, YEAH, BITCH" required any train of thought, any consideration, except for some stupid sexual fantasy he was dreaming up?

Let me say it AGAIN-I MEANT MAINSTREAM rap...I think stuff like Black Eyed Peas takes more talent, as their lyrics actually had some thought, and they actually play their intruments (though I still dont like them..respect them). God, why can't I make it clear that I hate mainstream rap? It isnt music, its an excuse to show off some guys new "Air Jordans", his $50,000 in jewelery, and his fab abs, and what the G.A.N.G.S.T.A life is, some fantasy land they dreamed up, with a hard-core twist. Ever rapper out there...all he has to do is flash out some gang symbols, tug on his necklace, then be seen with a whore and BAM! He' makes it to #1 on the charts. It's crazy, people no longer listen to this stuff for the music, but for the culture it sprouts. There IS NO musical talent in mainstream rap, I've already said it thrice. It's more of an idol worship thing.

Regarding all those bands you listed...when did everyone get the idea I liked Slipknot and Creed? Metallica and Nirvana, yes, but everything I said about mainstream rap I can say for mainstream rock, though its a little different, as I too hate that.

Again - youre using some general ass stereotype of rap to blanket the entire genre - Which tells me youre exposure to rap - mainstream or otherwise - is INCREDIBLY limited.

KANYE WEST is "mainstream" - fucker won Grammies. . .where in his lyrics is he talking about "bitches, 40's and cars"?

These genre comparisons fucking suck. Just supports the idea of music cliques and labelling everything that is different with bullshit stereotypes.

Rap is different to Rock, whoop-dee-fucking-doo...Get over it.

For the record: I like both. I like anything that sounds good....People that can be as general as "RAP SUCKS" or "ROCK SUCKS" (although for some reason....None of the "rap listeners" on this forum seem to say rock sucks - for some reason rolleyes: ) and label whole genres under one name is just fucking 25 cent ignorant.
They usually have the most limited taste in music and generally tend to be narrow-minded mother fuckers.

In conclusion: I hate you all and wish death upon every single one of you. plzdie:

Tripper 03-09-2005 10:14 PM

With all these fucking gimmicks and cash cows, people seem to forget that music is music. You listen to music because it sounds good. Not because it's fucking "cool."

Honestly...I don't understand, everyone seems to dwell on the shit that DOESN'T MATTER.

Trippar speaks the truth.

Listen to whatever makes your dick hard. Don't limit yourself to genres. I'm primarily a metal listener, but I also have many celtic CDs in my collection. I also like the Beastie Boys, Onyx, and even some Snoop.

People get too hung up on hating. Spread the love, fuckers.

Nirvana. (sorry Kurts voice was hardly golden).
[/quote:07303]

i'm sorry, you can't lump Nirvana into the same group as Creed and that other shit you mentioned... Nirvana was one of the most innovative an influencial bands of their time, do you even think bands like Live and Creed would of had a chance if Nirvana didn't break down the wall between mainstream and underground/indie, creating the over loved genre of modern 'alternative' music, remember when it was actually an alternative to something?...

whether you like his voice or not isn't the point, thats your opinion, but you can't simply pawn them off as untalented... did you ever see them play live? I did, it was amazing... i hope you aren't judging Nirvana based on hearing "smells like teen spirit" or "rape me" on the radio...
