I dont go to the Gym, so Im kinda forced just to use what I have, which is my own body and the hardwood floor.[/quote:07764]
Well, you might want to look into doing a sport at school which lets you use their weights. I remember between my first and second max out period, I went from 125 lbs to 185 lbs on my bench press. Your body will respond very fast to weights at that age, and you'll notice that you look bigger. |
I'm not bashing anyone but I don't see much reason in body building. Your body is designed to do what it has to. Bodybuilding is just tricking your body into thinking that it needs the extra muscle. The only reason you need muscle for physical work/activity and when the only activity you do is lift weights it sounds a bit redundant.
(I'm talking about pure body building, not exercising to be healthy or atheletic) |

Some bodybuilders make good money for a living, so they do it for that reason.
As for me, I don't necessarily bodybuild to get freaky huge like some of those guys, but I do want myself to look good, for my own satisfaction. The whole "You gotta look good so you can go on the beach" is a bunch of BS to me, because most people are actually shirtless in public, like what, maybe 2 times a year tops? A large part of lifting weights is to build self-confidence in one's self, which in turn translates to how you are in public, how well you can strike up a conversation with some girl you like or whatever. Your face may still look like it was ran over by a truck, but at least the boost in confidence at a better body will show when you hang out with others. |
For example:
That shit is unnecessary, but he makes six figures a year and lives a comfortable life doing it. This, on the other hand, minus the queer nipple ring and necklace, looks much better than this: The difference is the level of respect your body commands. It has been studied that men of above average physique do better in job interviews as opposed to a puny man. It's a natural human instinct to a certain extent show a man respect because he has large arms, chest, whatever. This respect is shown by women as well. One thing you hear a lot of girls saying is, "I don't want a puny man who looks like I could break him in half." Don't get me wrong, I know one or two rather skinny guys who date a lot of hot women, but those guys also have muscle definition, they aren't just skinny twigs without muscle. You can be skinny and strong and still have respect, but it's a problem when you're skinny and lanky as well. |

i was pretty big into lifting weights.
but then i got a girlfriend and i stopped |
Seriously, does eating more meat increase you're muscle mass? I only have meat about once a day, and thats at dinner - yet I built up a lot of arm and chest muscle over a 9 month period.
|
You'll be able to build a certain amount of muscle as you continue your normal calorie intake, but at some point, your muscles will need a higher calorie intake in order to build more mass.

-I LOVE the feel of finishing that last rep that you didnt think you could do, its kinda like a runners high but from lifting. -Yes, girls like a guy who is cut... not to mention being able to wear t-shirts, polos, and basketball jerseys without looking like a preadolencent boy in the arms and chest. -I dont play sports year round, only intramurals in the fall and winter so it definitly helps keep me in shape. -In daily life its nice to be able to lift things you otherwise would struggle with. |
Plus you gain street cred from the OG a la GTA:SA biggrin:

oh yeah good point, guys you piss off (happens alot on the streets when I've been drinking) will defintly think twice about getting into shit with you, and if they do, you will be alot more powerful, since I have very little street fighting skills, I would likely still get my ass kicked in that scenario though biggrin: |
Gyms contain large populations of homosexuals. At least 3 gays for every 5 square yards of floor-space.

Same here, they're all Barbie doll looking girls with fake boobs. They let the Hooters Girls go work out there for free since it's right next door though so that explains it. |
