over all the ipod seems to be the better player but you have to buy add-ons that come standard with the zen micro (extra battery and ac power deal). it really sux that you cant recharge the ipod without a computer ... |

easiest to use by far |
Ipod is not a simple mp3 player. A solid state stick mp3 player is far easier. Plug it into a usp port, drag some music on in and your done. With an ipod you have to use itunes to do anything. Not to mention linking it with the computer can be a pain in the ass at times as i've heerd. Things like it compltly losing its playlist when connected, or just general itunes problems with playlist and loading shit onto it.

You can drag and drop on an iPod too... oOo:

God damnit, i asked several people that question and they all said you had to use Itunes, so i was like "Fuck that". Now the real question comes in. Can you use it as a mass media storage? Say i want to bring 2 gigs worth of photos to my bros computer, can the ipod do that. Or what about things like Iso's.

I feel like I got screwed over after buying a Shuffle.
Could only afford it though, and its served me handsomely. |
I have been thuroughly lied to.
Looks like al my qualms with the Ipod have been sorted, i may have to pick one up when i truly feel the need, or the nanos go down just a bit in price. |
dont under estimate the player you have .... look into the ipod a bit more. its a wicked player ( sound quality ), but it doesnt come with many of the extras other players do. like ac power deal, extra battery ( theres no removing / replacing battery period ), you have to be at a usb comp computer to charge ... the 'dial' is a bit harder to use than the 'slider' type control of the zen (imo), etc. it seems like all those things included with other players ( the zen micro at least ) are expensive add-ons to the ipod.
those are the only things i cant stand about it .... and if they could affect the way you use it, you should stick with what you have or look into another. i like the ipod much more than the zen micro. Quote:

I found the click wheel easier to use than the zen micro.

Ipods about the only worthwhile thing apple has made in years and theyre milking the shit out of it. Wonder how theyre gonna fare after the mp3 player craze dies down. No doubt something else with "I" stuck in front of it, maybe a fleshlight with built in mp3 player "Ifleshlight", fuck a plastic tube while your dick gets engulfed with your favourite tunes. oOo:

No, fact. Ipods responsible for a big resurgance in apple products. Before ipod came along all we got was steve jobs whining about how superior osx is to windows year after year with fewer and fewer people listening as time went on. |

^^ not bad.. i think they are like 40 bucks on apple store.

i take back Zen Micro > ipod , creative sucks im getting my money back and buying one of these
|
the ipod nano is pretty much the same size as the zen micro to be honest. The zen micro is shorter but it is just a tad thicker. Any smaller than that and I would be insecure carrying it around...that's just me.

Ignorant or not, that's definitely not a word. Sweet sweet irony. |
I saw an iPod nano commercial on tv last night

Yeah, the Shuffles been pretty cool to me.
I dont waste months of saving to buy some advanced harware like you geekwads, but I dont like being cheap either. The Shuffle was such a great deal at the time - all the other mp3 players were near the 100's, and only had 128mb or whatever of memory, which plain out sucks. The screen on mp3 players is a plus, it isnt essential. When I used my CD player I never looked at the screen, and while I thought it would be cool to take my mp3 player out of my pocket and see the name of the song, it really wasnt worth it to be to blow $400 bucks on. I dont even have to flip it out to swtich the song, I usually leave it on my pocket and feel it on the outside of my jeans, and press the button I want. The buttons are so simple, you can be blind and operate them. And its 733t to just plug it into your computah. My last mp3 player I lost the cord for - but that was a cheap one. Tomorrow I will tell you my life story. |
I need an mp3 player that has long battery life per charge, that is priority number 1. This mp3 player will be used on hikes in excess of 3 days and i need music to fill in hours when i cannot cross terrain, or read books. How long can i expect an ipod nano to last? honestly i dont care if a song repeats or some shit, i need max bettery life and durability.
