did you read what akuma said? if not i suggest go up a few posts and read it. and you do not have to send it in at all. say you buy it at best buy, or compusa. if you want a new one, go to the store, show them receipt, and boom you have a no one no questions asked. |
creative zens blow and you know it dance:
ive had a like olddd ass ipod for 4 years now, it still works absolutely fine to this day with battery lasting just as long as ever, but my father uses it now as he got me a newer photo colour ipod which works just as fine. Dont believe most of the bullshit floating about complaints, most are fake and made by creative zen owners that want to justify themselves buying the 2nd place product. anyway psp is pretty damn hot for all the things you can do, surf net, listen to music, watch movies, look at your photos, let alone play games. Id say if you want a decent digital music player to play your music on, and put your whole music library on then get the ipod, its smaller and does what its supposed todo, if your looking for something that does more than that but is limited to only a 1-2gb storage then go with the psp. |
I still use my older iPod as a mobile hard drive. I also installed linux on it. My other iPod I use for music. its a 40 gig iPod and I have it half filled. I havent had any problems with my iPods. go for the iPod.
|
I'm just stating what I've observed. I know 3 people who bought iPod alternatives that still work great and 2 who have iPods that do not work like they did when the bought them. That's what I've seen, that's what i'm going on
and Himmler, my point is, why buy it if you are going to have to put extra effort into it? it would be easier to just buy an ipod alternative that does the same thing (for less $$$) and NOT have to take it back... |

let me say it again, my brother bought an iPod, I bought a Dell at the same time (about a year and a half ago) His iPod barely holds a charge (in fact, he listened to it for about two hours last night at full charge and this morning it is dead) and my Dell plays for hours and hours. That's all I'm saying. I don't give a shit about iPods or alternatives or whatever, i'm just going off of what I've observed.
And as for the no friends, you're an idiot, I don't need to argue about who has friends on an internet forum with some bonehead. One has a Creative Touch, One has a Creative Micro, One has a Dell DJ Two have iPods that have messed up. |

from what i have observed my whole family has had at least 2 in the past 3 years, and none of them have really died from not holding a charge. i took mine in in 2004 becasue i just wanted one of the new oens and said the battery wasnt really working good anymore.
how often does your brother use his ipod? if it uses it alot then it probably doesnt hold a charge anymore, or how often does he let it die then charge it again? those are all characteristics of a lithium ion battery, they have only a limited amount of charge cycles or something like that, a friend told me. so everytime it dies and he charges it, it used a cycle. so naturally, the more you use it, the shorter it will last you. |
he doesn't use it that much
|
i have 1 colour ipod, my sister has a mini ipod, my father has a old generation ipod and ipod shuffle, my girlfriend has a ipod 3rd generation, one my drinking mates has a stolen ipod nano, and everyone of them work absolutely fine with no absolute problems to date.
i dont trust shit all c312 says, unless you yourself are the owner of a said hell problem ipod then i cannot see your point, but buying the 2nd place product is no way any better, nore any more reliable. In the end it comes down to the better product you want to buy, not to some bullshit each user tries to spin on you. the battery on your brothers ipod, if you have a brother, or a brother that has an ipod is that the idiot probaly didnt charge it long enough the first time he got it, like a mobile phone battery or any other rechargable battery you get it as usually that defines how well your battery should last for. |
who gives a fuck. Just buy an mp3 player. Ive had a 128 mb creative thumb drive/mp3 player for a year it works 1337, I use my cd cassette adapter, plug that in and play it in my car. It holds like 12 songs at a time and then plays them in the order they are put on. You can FF and skip.

I've never had a problem with my 3G iPod. hake:

like Creative is a crappy brand...
they have been making quality, great sounding speakers/sound equipment for years and they are automatically second place to a computer manufacturer. I just don't get why iPods have the number 1 status |
Quote:
How often do you see a creative TV commercial? |
I use creative speakers with my iPod... does this mean im going to hell?
|
Quote:
iPods are #1 because it's the best system.... and for the same reason Creative sells most the sound cards and Microsoft sells the most OSs. |

yeah, Coleman, I think you're right. Creative didn't come out with a commercial with silhouetted people dancing around to a Zen so they are obviously the worst. |
you're an apple lover aren't you? shouldn't you be happy that so many people find the iPod so good?
|
no, I don't love Apple. I would like an Apple laptop, but I just don't appreciate how a product like the iPod is labeled as the number 1 of its kind for being cooler looking and being a name brand...
|
Quote:
And Creative makes horrible sound cards compared to M-Audio and horrible speakers compared to Klipsch. |
no, but I'm serious...I think they do a good job of advertising. Everywhere you look you see an Apple marketing promotion.
It's gotten to a point where people go to BestBuy and ask, "I'm looking to buy an Ipod. What's the best one?" They don't necessarily mean an ipod per say, more like an mp3 player. It's just like Cleanex, Legos, RollerBlading, etc. |
they aren't horrible compared to Klipsch. Creative makes Cambridge Soundworks, which sound great. Granted Klipsch are better, but they cost a lot more. Klipsch might be better, but I don't think Cambridge are that far behind.

'IPOD BREAKZ BUY CREEEATIVE ZENZ BECAUZ DHEY UNDERGROUND'
thats all im hearing. Apple have made the best product on the market in form of the iPod, they have done very well from it and so market it even more as they know people will buy it as advertising a good product works, and just because you believe their brand to be too mainstream doesnt mean the actual product is of any lesser quality, i couldnt give a shit if everyone had an ipod and i wanted something so i could be different, or a bit special, i would want the best product for the job and that is simply the iPod. |
i wouldn't say "simply the ipod [is better]."
I enjoy the menu and features of the creative products more. |
Quote:
And I am certainly not saying that Zens are better, I don't even own one. Coleman, I also like the other menus better than the iPod, but that's just because it's what I'm used to. I really don't see a difference in iPods and the alternatives besides the menus, and the menus are both fine depending on how used to them you are. |
warning, the following posts contains poor writing and bad sentence structure. im so fucking tired as i write this.
i bought my mini because of several reasons. first: the zen i bought broke within 5 minutes. awesome. second: the mini was $50 cheaper (price arguement doesn't apply to me) i forget how the zen felt, so im getting a guy to get his while i post this so i can make an informed decision on what i like better. first off, theres a few goodies the zen has to offer over the ipod. built in fm tuner (but who listens to the radio... seriously) combined with microphone makes for a solid one up over the ipod. the only problem is the zen's battery life of 12 hours while the ipod holds 18 hours (i've had my ipod for a long time now, my battery hasnt deterioated any just as everyone else here). the feel of the zen isnt that great, the scroll bar simply sucks. it's either too jumpy or it doesn't move far enough and its limited. in contrast the ipod touch scroll is continuous: you can rip from a - z of your song list in seconds yet it still keeps a sensitivity well enough for you to pinpoint options with ease. the zen only allows 2 gigs to be used as a removable storage which sorta sucks, i dont know how may times my ipods come in handy as a 2nd drive. ipod has games too, parachute saved my life during science class. ipod has a shitload of accessories (some can be pretty functional). scrolling to certain points in a song is x100 faster with the ipod than the zen. having to hold fast forward is a waste of time imo. those are ust a few of my opinions and observations as i have both the zen and ipod in each hand, and why id rather have an ipod. the zens a good player but i just dont think it can match the ipods functionality. the zen owner even admitted he would rather have an ipod. |
Why did an Ipod vs PSP thread turn into Zen vs Ipod thread? and does Arkan even care anymore?
Both are fine products, i've had a zen for a few years and a friend of mines has an Ipod for a little while longer. I got the zen because I didn't feel like paying extra for a few features I wouldn't use and I didn't mind that it was a little bigger. The scroll bar really isn't that bad, I've so used to it the Ipod's system seems horrible. If I needed to get something new, I get a zen again. And of mine and my friend's, the only one that broke was mine, and thats only because it fell out of my pocket and down some concrete stairs, and I got it replaced for free because of a warranty. |

I would think everyone would buy some mp3 player by some company that no one has ever heard of to listen to the music from bands no one has ever heard of because mainstream prodiucts are 4 fgts
|
I have a Lexar LDP 600 mp3 player. It has 256M built in and a SD card slot, so I get 4 to 12 hours of music all that I ever need. I also listen to blues bands you guys have never heard of, with some classic rock and guitar heroes thrown in. It's no longer manufactured so ♪ you can't buy one♫. ed:
