Yes they were bought out, at least they were bought out here in the states, if that makes any sense. But i know they have been bought out by someone else. Obviously they kept the name, but have changed owners and what not. And they are made with shittier parts.

For what its worth, Kodaks are good starter cameras, they are easy to operate and are pretty damn cheap. But there is a battery and battery door problem with the Kodaks.

If you want a good cheap digi cam look at the Fuji A345 its 149.99 USD and its a fine camera.

I personaly find that the Canon Powershot series are the best cameras

Canon A520, while they both have the same megapixles, the zoom is a tad more. Go with the fuji if you wanna stay under 150, but if you wanna stay under 200 get the canon, its worth it. Olympus' break easily, complete shite.

Canon > Nikon > Fuji > Sony > Kodak/ Olympus


As far as SLR's go i have no clue about those, but those are my point and shoot experiences.

Don't get me wrong sony is a good company, but they should stick to video cameras and play stations, and radios etc.
