As long as they leave the nazi shit out then everybody'll be happy. Just the war aspect, you know what I mean.[/quote:ed2fb]

Yeah, lets glorify them and not even mention the horrocities they commited. GG Duffy, you really are a brilliant young nose.

On the topic; Ive been longing for an FPS that puts you in the shoes of a jerry since I first played MoH:AA. That would deff. be something fresh in an otherwise overhyped genre.

What the fuck, you're just a walking paradox

i think the best way to introduce the germans as a playable single player campaign would be to have an eastern front campaign first....i think people would be more willing to kill commies then brits or americans, and if its a sucess the german campaign for the xpac would be the western front.

More return on investment with console games. I'm as pissed off as you are though...

ok, so if they aren't making another WWII CoD game, should I go pick up CoD2 if I want a WWII shooter? Do a lot of people play? are there cheats? and will it remain competitive for much longer?

Miscguy 12-03-2006 06:19 PM

The problem with playing as the germans is that most developers want to pit you against the americans and british during the well known parts of the war. Those however are the parts the germs are losing. Who wants to play a game where your destine to lose? Nobody, so you have to introduce an alternate timeline to which audiances have been "meh" about for some time. Alot think its "sci fi" or just lame. Mostly because developers toss in alot of "futuristic" bullshit for the germans and ruin it.

The key is to switch from the popular timeline and focus on germanys expansion period, there invasion of poland and crushing of france. I mean, no one objects to shooting french people. The campaign could stop when you've gotten control on france and your in that build up period during the battle of britian. After that people may be more willing to play through a historically accurate losing battle as long as objectives and missions are done right.

I think if they do do a german's pov, they oughta, as a revolutionary new feature, have you purposely die at the end of the game.

I'd like to see at least one WW1 game before I see another WW2 game...

P.s - I bought a 360 about two days ago with COD3, and its pretty sweet...Not many new features, but the graphics are pretty - Good to see canadians/poles over russians, I always hated their missions....DEADRISING PWNS.

Doctor Duffy 12-03-2006 10:18 PM

Fuck yeah for the ww1 game, I've always wanted one of those.

It has to do w/ testosterone though... ww2 is about the limit as average guy can handle in combat pace/explosions before it gets "boring". Like playing a civil war game, who the fuck wants to wait 3 minutes while you reload.

What I'd like is something that doesnt involve americans period

oOo:

It doesnt take 3 minutes to load a springfield/kar98/lee-enfield....All 3 are guns from WW1, all 3 are in all of the WW2 games....Then you've got frag grenades, revolvers, .45s, MACHINE GUNS, and if desperate, you could throw in experimental sub-machine guns used for trench-raids etc....WW1, wasn't all trench warfare. Theres so much that could be done on the subject....

Everyone always goes on about a WW1 game being too boring....I always find it amusing seeing as there aren't any yet to even judge. I'm sure before MOH for ps1, most people wouldve said the same shit about a WW2 shooter game...

...and whats more boring than ANOTHER ww2 game? Done to death. At least attempt something new instead of writing it off from the get-go.

iraq war ftw

Doctor Duffy 12-03-2006 11:40 PM

Nah, once you've played a game set within a sandbox you've played em all.

Fuckin' brillant !!

I may have to quote that "No one objects to shooting French people" line though.
