Yeah, but Canada's death toll doesn't.

I think of it like this....I, being a New Zealander, would NEVER want to become a Seventh state to our neigbouring Australians. No offense Aussies, but I like being a Kiwi.

pest 11-07-2002 03:33 PM

Actually, their deathtoll has shown no improvement since the new guns laws. I guess criminals sont let silly little things like laws stand in their way.

SW-14 11-07-2002 03:33 PM

Heh, just think what it would be like now if our crappy little 5,000 man invasion of 1812 would have been successful. If only we would have attacked Montreal...

Yeah, well...Halting the sale of guns before they get in circulation, might help to lower the death toll. But maybe this is too hard for all North Americans to comprehend.

Currently in Alberta, 20 some% of the population supports leaving canada and joining the states. I can see it raising over time if the federal government continues to 'dislike' us. In the late 80's it was something like 45% percent.

Personally, I'm undecided.

I would not be surprised if 20% of Texans wanted to join Mexico.

Tripper 11-07-2002 04:49 PM

Absolutely.

I don't think they wanted to join the states, but create their own country like Quebec wanted to do. There are still people arguing that position.
