Actually the Leopard you see there first came off the production line in 1979, while the first Abrams came off the line in 1980.

Believe it or not, these so called "rail guns" and "laser cannons" do exist, and have been under development for some years now.

Australia uses Leapord Tanks, they are of the old variant, but still are quite cool. Hopefully they will get armour upgrades and cannon upgrades in the future, God knows they need it.

I still gurantee that a Leopard 2 would get torn apart in battle by an M2 Abrams. It has radioactive armor, and DU (Depleted Uranium) rounds.

True that wook my friends uncle lives in the back woods somewhere and he has huge property, and the gov't asked to rent out some land from him. Id just like to say two things. 1: most of the information about the M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams tanks is classified, no one knows our armor concotion, the us govt never released a top speed etc...so any aligation against the abrams is false because no one but the petagon and defense contractors know the real capeablities of the Abrams.

Now here is a true story:

My friends dad works with two guys who commanded and drove M1A1 abrams tanks in the Gulf War. Now, during operation desert shield, in Saudi Arabia they would drag race the abrams. Now, the released speed is like 40 MPH but these guys said the tank was doing 90 + MPH and i belive em.

id put my money on the Abrams any day :)

I've heard from tankers that they can indeed exceed 60mph. The tank is, however, governed to about 40mph, to keep the turbine from overheating in combat. It is however against regulations to disable the governor during combat, because if you push it too hard for too long, you'll overheat the turbine and then you'll really be in deep shit.
