I would suggest you learn how to shoot with the SMG's... I for one am now more lethal with it than the shot gun, burst fire and keeping a distance from shotguns is quite easy to do.

I even snipe at medium range with the SMGs, yes SNIPE.

The shotgun is weaker than the SMG, just learn how to use it properly.
