I was thinking of somthing more along the lines of computer repair, building and maybe routing. I know my life won't be super fancy. I really just want something simple.

I used to somewhat belive in that shit, but since I've been in HS it died. Alot of the teachers here are depressing and bring everyone down. They give you more the grim reality. MY first day of freshman year, we were all gathered in the auditorium. Our princpal gets up on the stage and begins his speech by: "Look to you left and right. Odds are that person will either be a failuare or will accomplsih very little in there life..."

I'm not saying it's the teacher's fault. Alot of them are good, but alot are also very negative and depressing lives and it reflects onto us, the students.

Don't limit yourself. You can become wealthy at anything if you know how to tap the market. Service occupations like what you're considering are a very fertile market. You'd be surprised how many corporations would rather hire someone to network and repair their systems on an as needed basis than have a full-time network administrator.

Many educators have become pessimists. The hell with them. You know what you're capable of.

im shooting for the middle, i know there are very few that get a lot done and all that requires alot of hard work, im not really feeling the whole hard work thing. im trying to find the best low work/ nice pay ratio job and doing that. i was thinking something with comps but thats going down the drain with the slumping economy so im kinda lost

Don't go for your GED Butters, I'm being serious here.

What year are you in High school?? Junior, Senior??

If so, stick with it.

That's the problem with todays kids, fucking dropping out and won't stick with anything, that's why they're tweaking allot of special forces training. No offense to you or anything, Butters.

Get your diploma, it'll be worth it.

Airborne Butters 03-13-2003 07:00 AM

I'm not dropping out, anything but. My mom would fuckin kill me if I dropped out. Basically I work at my own pace on studying for the GED. Basically this GED is the only thing I got to graduate early. I'm supposed to graduate this year, but I'm not unless unless I go for the GED. My freind got his GED last year in the same program and he's in college on the east coast right now. Well actually he's in Panama City for spring break...lucky bastard...

I guess its all your perspective. We got the same speech and my only thought was for the poor SOBs next to me. Its not a doom and gloom speech, its life. I applaud them for giving you guys a little reality instead of pumping sunshine up your ass.

Now if you know you are not cut out for college, then you are on the right track by considering a vo-tech. Get your self a trade. Specialize. Thats how you make more money. Even the guys going to college, the more specialized your degree is, the more you will make.

a GED = High School Diploma. You can goto college as long as you have one or the other. The problem is you will only be able to goto a community college, most private colleges won't accept a GED.
