A couple of mine that hasn't been mentioned yet is...
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Where the two sisters are fighting near the end, and the evil sister has the powerful Green Destiny Sword, which is whooping the other ones ass... The good sister goes through all sorts of weapons to try and defeat her... Really cool. The Matrix X100... Also, I feel the battle sequences in The Thin Red Line (Newer Version) are among the very best... The entirety of the drawn out 45 minute hill-battle, Two scouts go forward, and are killed... Everyone gets down... Everythings still, peaceful... Then as that one Luietenant jumps up and is riddled by bullets, harrowing stuff... Storming that Japanese camp, being in the fog... and hearing the bullets whizing past... fucking creepy... Hans Zimmer's score really adds something here... Then, there's the sequence on the river bed, where Pvt. Witt is killed... That's probably my favourite... I cried when that happened, he was a great guy... :( |
My favourite WW2 scene would have be in Enemy at the Gates when Vassilli gets that silly unscoped moisin nagants and managed to knock of 5 or so Krauts in the the process... amazing stuff
|
The final battle in SPR, Helm's Deep, and a shitload of others that i probly cant remember right now
I think to be a great battle scene there needs to be a short period of forboding before the battle, so the tension gradual rises. |

In BoB when Speirs charges straight through the Germans to get in contact with a Platoon around the city, then he runs back through and the Germans just stand there looking at him all confused.
|
The ambush scene in Forrest Gump
The last fight scene in Platoon All the scenes in Predator (Especially the part when that guy gets shot, and all the other soldiers come up and light up the forrest) Fight at Carentan in BoB |
My favourite realistic battle is what I am currently watching on cnn or sky news
|
Bored, what does the thread title say?
|
lol...

Stalingrad is a good movie since it goes by the point of view of the Germans in Russia. The movie is 90% action for you action buffs out there. But, it is all in German and Russian.
|
Oh and my favorites are...
The lobby scene from Matrix, SPR @ Omaha, Band of Brothers Episodes 6-8, Romeo Must Die ( Scene in the Garden with the Fire ). Those are all I can think of right now. biggrin: |
