Ok, so look for "MTV: Icon, eh?" heh Sorry, bad Canadian joke. cry:

Well, I think it was 1 hour, and they just had other rock bands & singers pay tribute to them, and they played clips from when they were recording in the studio.

You know what sucks? I'll be at Fort Irwin, CA from June 3rd - 21st. I gotta reserve that mofo! cry:

The new song did sound promising.

Of course, I am one who has never said the band has sold out. I've been listening to them since '88, and believe me love their old shit. The "Black" album came out, and while it was good, I wasn't thrilled.

But this is where I am seperated from the majority of "fans" out there. I feel that Load and Re-load are very good albums. People change over time, and this applies to Metallica just as much as anyone else. To be honest with you, you can't play a hundred miles an hour for your entire life. And while the first four albums are my favs, they were starting to become redundant.

When Load came out, I was in a very dark point in my life, and the album fell right into how I was feeling. It is in my opinion, the darkest of their albums. Listening to it got me through some really tough times. Re-load, while not as good in my opinion as Load, is still some good music. And like said earlier, anything by Metallica still kicks the shit outta the crap coming out these days.

Moral of the story; people grow, change, mature, face different challenges, and in the case of Metallica, it shows in their music. I for one, applaud them for showing these changes in their music and not pidgeon-holing themselves into one music style to please their "fans".

Just my three cents. biggrin:

AH! I missed it! I even wrote it down, but I forgot it was on! Will it be on again? If its MTV then most likely it'll be played 3,000 times a day until its voted out.

Seriously though, will it be on again?

Totenkopf 05-07-2003 01:12 PM

I'm sure it will. As you noted, MTV replays shit for eternity.
