I'll be on the same path Eames, but I'm doing it the RIGHT way ;)
I'm going enlisted first, and then getting my degree and going officer so I can get both views of how the system works. You get more expierance and respect that way.

There isn't any right way of doing it but I was told that if you were an enlisted man before you became an officer then you had an idea of what was going on.

Trust me...your "knob" year (thats your first year for you non-hackers) is way tuffer then parris island, and almost any other aspect of enlisted life. Going through a military schools 4th class system trains you to be an officer, by being a follower first, then a leader.

I went to NMMI for 2 years.
Mili school blows.

Oh, I have no doubt that Officer training is harder. But that's not the point. You can be a tough Marine but a a lousy leader. See, if you go enlisted first you'll have expierance that counts when you want to become an officer, so you have a clue whats going on.

I'm joining the Royal Navy as an officer right away but I've done some basic training in the reserves already, a ratings life in the navy sucks azz.
