It still is a little far fetched to praise a piece of fabric. I'm sure no body agrees with every single aspect of their country. National anthem should be, if anything, the only thing worth standing for.

This is why I want to murder you Pyro. annoy:

Oooooooooooooook. The pledge of allegiance is required in ELEMENTARY schools. It was enacted sometime in the 50's following the Korean war, so the argument could be made that it was a political move to recover from a VERY unpopular war - but whatever. One of the more interesting arguments that was made was that the religious overtones of the line do NOT carry the weight folks thinks it does. It is simply a phrase. THe second argument that needs to be looked at is that the Founding Fathers WERE religious. They DID find this country under god, even though Jefferson made it clear there needs to be a seperation of church and state. So its like saying we recognize that this country was founded under god for liberty and justice for all.

We shouldnt change our country because of other race's coming in. Hell its our country they should have thought about this shit before ever coming here.

Buck, i agree.

In my school, there are so many people that dont say the pledge of allegence you can't even count them all. No one makes a big deal about it at all...so unless you actually live it, you can't jump to conclusions. None of them are looked down upon. As for standing, hell yeah, you better stand. If you're in our country you better give some decency to have a small bit of respect for the soil you're standing on.

You don't have to, leave it to the patriotic people.
