Doom plays like any other fps, any fps you play its the same routine, gun down enemies complete objective etc, same thing goes for any game of any genre really. As another guy put it "doom 3 is just under the microscope because its doom 3". Farcry had retarded ai that were either dumb as fuck or heard\spotted you from impossible distances, yet the ai was the most hyped feature of the game, because it was basically an underdog game that suceeded it was getting rave reviews.

Doom on the other hand its a matter of people expecting something completly different, the game does play differently from the original doom games. Halflife 2 will be the same deal, people are expecting some kind of evoloution and its not gonna happen, same routine of gun down enemies, complete tasks, only instead of impressive graphics hl2 has a physics system thats been pimped to death.

True to all that then it gets released and people like us can bitch up a storm about it biggrin:
