Would you really trust your life to a man who isn't by your side, asking
you to charge ahead regardless that you believe it is a bad decision ?

Clarification: do you have some leeway regarding how to achieve an objective ? How much so ?

I see where you're going with this.

I don't know. I have never been in a real battle. I think that most of us trust our officers. We know that if we were in a real battle, they would not throw our lives away. And, actually the officers are by our side. Major Vernon was in the Warehouse. So was all of the platoon officers. I saw the 3 platoon (my platoon) 2nd lieutenant Mills in the warehouse with his signaler. He was in communication with all the other platoon officers, and with Major Vernon.

The Offiers are not stupid. A lot of thought goes into the decisions they make. They have to live with the decisions. I wouldn't think it would be very easy just to say "ah hell, who cares if an entire platoon dies".

I just realized that in this pic, the one closest in the pic is me:

I didn't even realize it until I looked over the pics for about the 3rd time.

I am dog tired right there. Legs could hardly move. Doing a section attack with the flack jackets and 300 rounds of ammo and all my gear is really tiring.

Salute to those boys in Iraq.

nice pics, looks intense...

Damn ninty nine you got some old school flak jackets lol. But your equipment looks better than ours, plus i cant take pics like that lol they dont let us sometimes for obviously safety reasons and security reasons.

EDIT: Maybe ill suit up with all my gear on, grab my M4 airsoft gun and get sexy pictures for you all.

What else is new? Everything is old. Old trucks, old webbing.

All the new stuff is for overseas missions. Why would they give us new flak jackets, and give the old ones to guys in Afghanistan? We don't have the funds to purchase everything new, like the marines do unfortunatley. We do our best with what we have.

We will be getting the new load bearing vest, which replaces the webbing by summertime, which should be awesome.

edit:
Remember that there is a difference between a flak jacket, and body
armour. A flak jacket won't stop a round.
