Again I don't understand where you are coming from on this. I haven't shot at anybody, I haven't even pointed my weapons at anybody. All I've ever done is target shooting or hunting. I'm a law abiding citizen.

I'm just seeing it from a different perspective as I've never held a proper gun letalone owned one, obviously because of laws but I wouldn't even want one in any case. I'm just taking the actual gun out of the equation thats all. Not attacking your rights. freak: |
The men who created my government understood that to have rights, the individual has to have the means to protect those rights. The only ideal they held more sacred was the right to speak or be of our own mind.

Its a shame you can't just outlaw guns there, I mean how many people have you shot with your guns? how many times have you pointed it at a criminal and have you ever found a psycho or killer trying to attack you? Nope..[/quote:e1677] So should we also outlaw alchohol? PEople get drunk and drive and kill people, but it is legal in almost the whole world. Outlawing guns would do so little, criminals will always have guns. Now go drink some tea, and die in a cold dark place in Europe. annoy: |
i hear the cops in london only have a nightstick and a whistle, and there are like 3 shootings a year (cop related)...
on the other hand, when the constitution was written, people needed guns to defend themselves from the indians on the frontier. edit: Acideyez Lieutenant General Joined: 24 Oct 2003 Posts: 1337 Karma: +9/-13 Cash: 8098 GFD w00t |

Well no..........but what if America had no guns, think of all the saved lives, [/quote:8c808] Actually several government studies over the years show that more lives are saved than are taken by guns. [quote="mr.miyagi":8c808]Its a shame you can't just outlaw guns there, I mean how many people have you shot with your guns? how many times have you pointed it at a criminal and have you ever found a psycho or killer trying to attack you?[/quote:8c808] Well, as we say here, if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns. And as a matter of fact, my father did point a gun at a criminal and it did save his life (IMO). A guy came to his dorr and tried to break it down even though he could see my father was in the house. My father is in his seventies, the "intruder" was in his twenties and much larger than my dad. The guy finally ran away once my father raised his gun and pointed it at him. I have no doubt that my father's life would have been taken had this young man busted down our door. As they say, God created man. Sam Colt made them equal. How can you say that if we got rid of all the guns that we would be any safer? Are we all suddenly going to be the same size? Are we then going to outlaw knives? Baseball bats? Pipes? Garden tools? I've talked about this in other threads till I'm blue in the face so I'm not going to go into it again, but the issue is not about whether or not we need guns, or whether or not guns prevent crime...the arguement can only be about wether or not the Second Amendment applies to all citizens. As Americans, we have a right to own a gun to use for defense, or for recreation, or for paper weights if we want to use them that way. **EDIT*** by the way it was illegal for this guy to possess a gun, The article says he had served a year in prison for "aggravated assault with an auto" (I guess he didn't always need a gun to attack someone, eh?) So..being a convicted felon, he is not allowed to even possess a gun - much less own one. As I said ... only the outlaws will have guns. |
I jus think its sad how you all need guns to defend yourselves thats all, I mean Canada has tons of guns but their gun murder rate is tiny, America's is the biggest in the world....hundreds of other countries have no guns and obviously have no gun murders ever.
You may say more lives are saved because of gun ownership? well thats silly because look at all of the lives taken in the process to balance it out, thousands and thousands. Just because lives are saved because of them doesn't take away the fact theres so many taken in the process. And Duke_of_ray can go fuck himself, your comment about banning things left right and centre was a retarded one and just showed your brain doesn't work behind those oOo: eyes. I'm talking about imagining the difference if there was no guns, I'm not saying ban them all NOW!!!!! I never have to worry about getting shot or shooting anyone ever and thats a nice feeling to have, say if someone wants to knife me then bring it on. Guns are just for pussies biggrin: Its more of a discussion rather than a protest. I do realise your culture and rights are different from my country too, just expressing an opinion cool: |
More lives are saved by legal gun ownership in the U.S. Of course the world would be a better place if we were all happy and friendly with eachother and off colonizing the moon, but we're not, so whatever.

Well here is my formula.
schizophrenic + no medication + drinking x revolver + rejection = Some one is gonna get shot. |

Really? Like when the Canadian government said that the gun registration program that y'all have now was going to cost less then a $100 million to implement? Right now the cost to your tax payers is in the billions and is still climbing. |
