All the liquor stores were government owned up till 10 years ago or so. Now thier all private stores. 18 years to buy alcohol. Can't buy beer in any store other than a liquor store though I think.

I think Quebec is the only province where that does not apply. I know you can buy beer in corner stores and such there. And the drinking age is 18 in qc... 21 in ontario
