Theres already a hack of sorts for hl2 that enables bloom in game, hdr though unless its done totally over the top (google for farcry hdr screens) is not really that noticable.

I agree, HL2 runs like 10 times faster than Doom3 on my machine, and i have alot of things cranked up in HL2.

I wish my computer could run everything at high. I have to keep everything at low or else I will die from low fps. cry:

could you tell me if there is something wrong with my system? I know I should be able to run hl2 at medium settings.

Pentium 4 2.6 Ghz.
512 megs of ram
80 gig Hd
nVidia 5800 something or another card. (the number is right)

Ive checked for spyware but found nothing.

Well first of all you have a FX5800 which is the single worst card Nvidia has ever put out.

Unless you have Vantec Tornados or Delta Screamers in there, how the hell can you stand the noise that the dustbuster puts out???

Also you need more than 512MB of RAM.

As for red orchastra, the only thing i can say about that mod is "clunky".

Mainly because hl2 is less demanding than doom 3, hl2 doesn't do bumpmapping or dynamic shadows etc.
