I don't care about whats done to them...I just don't like them. And I hate the way the manual transmission is set up.

what how it shifts 1-2-3-4-5-R? IVe driven a civic and thought it was a nice car. The owners that rice them out on hte other hand need a few lessons on what is appropriet.

I think you need to explain a little more on how the tranny is fucked up. AS far as I can tell its 1-2-3-4-5-R which is how 95% of all MT are set up. If you are talking about the amount of travel involved in each shift thats a different matter. but you need to explain better

any pre 99 VW had a shifter setup like this

R 1 2 3 4 5.

reverse was by first gear.. THAT is what he means. EVEN chevy is now doing it in their newer economy cars.

instead of having to reach across to put it into reverse, and in many cases catching the passengers leg if its in the way. My car has the R under the 5th gear, I just find it much easier.

lol posidon at first i was like wtf R is on the pasangers side, but i forgot your in England lol. Anyway the VW set up is nice how you push down and into R which is right by 1st gear. It also prevents some ricer from going from 3rd to 4th but missing and just pulling hard as hell into R's slot lol. Oh well i really dont give a fuck either way. If the R is by the passanger or the R is by 1st gear, its not that big of a deal.

Yeah, it's just what I prefer...though I do like driving the PRelude...or even the Accord. I just feel like a sissy in a civic.
