is it nonsense because its not relevent to the discussion or because it doesnt back up your arguement?

LOL, a MUCH easier opponent. I hate Chokelahoma for all they're worth, but I will be pulling for them in the Fiesta Bowl to beat the fucking shit out of that faggot team from Idaho.[/quote:a2739]

As a Nebraska fan I root for Oklahoma every game they aren't playing the Huskers. I love seeing both teams doing well. Maybe it's my way of holding on to my beloved power option. :(

Just out of curiosity, why do you hate Oklahoma?[/quote:a2739]

I hate Oklahoma because they were too good for too long (similar to Miami and USC). I like surprises, not teams that go into the season #1 and usually end the regular season #1. A playoff would stop that...

arent you mad about michigan?

Id love to see them go for a national champ, But im not a die hard fan, Id be happy for michigan but dont get distraught about it

go burn a couch in the street.

Thats Morgantown

Milla 12-04-2006 07:37 PM

I dont understand all these fucking bowls.

Where does the Peach/ Chick Fil A bowl stand in this?

Also why does VA Tech only play 12 games and not 13?

Cpt. Obvious 12-04-2006 07:49 PM

On to the gator bowl for us. I dont know that much about Georgia Tech. I know Calvin Johnson is probably the best reciever in the nation but Reggie Ball has been struggling to get him the ball. Hey Milla when is VaTech going to agree to play us again?

Milla 12-04-2006 07:52 PM

I have no clue dude. I didnt know they can just make games up like that?

Would be awesome to see them play each other again.

it would of been nice to see W.VA vs VA Tech rather than Va Tech vs Georgia...wtf is that about, an 8-4 team

We had a contact to play you guys two years after you left the Big East. Then VaTech chose to not renew it. Also Maryland chose not to play us from 2008-2010 so we will have room for it. Also VaTech should have room because I think they are gonna have a whole in their schedule from 2008-10.

Milla 12-04-2006 08:03 PM

Than we shall see what happens, it would be cool.

come on stackem, all sports fans know that just because one team beats the same team by more points it doesn't mean they are better. You can't take that as any solid evidence. (this might be different if it was a 1 point vs. 40 point difference)

That's the type of logic that I could use to say that because the Redskins beat the Cowboys, and the Cowboys beat the Giants, therefore the Redskins are better than the Giants...but we know that's not true, because the Giants beat the Redskins. What I'm saying is that logic doesn't apply in sports, especially college sports, there are too many intangibles.

snipeymagoo 12-05-2006 01:33 PM

My team almost beat them at home too, South Carolina.

c312 12-05-2006 01:35 PM

ok, for that instance, you have another intangible like I was talking about: Spurrier facing his old team. There are tons of factors in games that make comparing different wins unfair, ie: rivalries, conference games, bad feelings, opponents rank, previous week's game, etc....

OK well then how about Michigans greatest and maybe the worlds greatest coach dieing hours before the biggest road game of the year, does that count or is it just because it doesnt back up your arguement

Georgia is still Georgia, their record is really an indication of how hard it is to break in a new quarterback in the SEC (and in general). They aren't as good as they have been in the past few years, but they are still a good team.

And most teams play 12 games. The 13th game is usually a conference championship game.

sure it counts, that's another intangible, I would have thought it would motivate Michigan and help them in the game, who knows, without that, they may have lost by more than 3...

I'm done arguing, it is pretty much a recognized fact that common wins don't stack up as evidence of one team being better than another.
