They dissect everything by seeing what chords are used with what type of function in which inversion with the intent of bass line. Music is more than just sound. The musicologists go into detail with the whole music theory part of it.

Now, to be fair, she probably didn't write the song in the first place, so her team of songwriters should be the ones we're talking about here. Avril is just the pretty face that happens to sing the words they write.

right, thats basically what i said in my first post. she really didn't know about the song probably. her song writers are at fault and she just blindly follows them (not like that's totally idiotic in this business) since she doesn't write her own stuff.
