im not really a fan of those bands, i can understand its probably influential music but just didnt like it perrsonally

its Black Flag. i mean most "loud rock" is influenced by Black Flag because they started the underground hardcore punk scene. after recording and touring continuously for 6 years, they had spread hardcore punk throughout the US and then broke up. but since then, numerous hardcore bands started, and then most of them broke into the mainstream. examples are Rise Against, Bleeding Through, Give Up The Ghost, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Hope Conspiracy, and so many more.

all the bands on the list are awesome and worth listening to. Minutemen and Black Flag especially.

...glad some of you fellas have discovered some real gems. growing up in that era was an amazing experience. DC in the 80s and 90s was one of the greatest places to be if you were into punk/hardcore...

Along with southern california, hell yea. DC had Minor Threat and Bad Brains though, which are 2 of my absolute favorite bands.
