everyone with a history degree strives to be on a history channel documentary, i bet.

Jotun you're an idiot. History majors have one of the widest selections of careers for any major. History majors are 3rd in employees of federal government jobs behind accountants and pre-law. They are 3rd in FBI, 2nd in CIA, 3rd in ATF, 2nd in Homeland Security. I could go on and on.

P.S. I'm not a History major.

nope. i hate to be a jerk, but my dad has a history degree, and just enjoyed learning history, but doesn't care about showing off his knowledge or teaching.

It is very wide with what you can do, at job interviews I used to ephasise on the bs factor regarding research & use of statistics & also the ablity to construct an argument based on selected sources...

So with that in mind one can bs their way into admin/management & maybe law jobs. But seeing as a lot of people go & study things that are directly related to what they want to do 'business management', the competition can be quite difficult.

I must have been to a million job interviews, but after getting shot down so many times I began to realise it's certainly beneficial to use a certain amount of poetic license in ones resume, especially if you have a fairly obscure a degree subject such as history.

I still can't believe the idiots accepted me at my new job ed: beer:

Yes shock horror, some people do choose not to be bothered drinking. Why is it when people find out you dont drink its some type of amazing feat whereas people not smoking is considered a more regular occurance. oOo:

Im 27 and havn't ever been out drinking, probably never will as ive seen too many people shit their lives away when they first of all liked to have a drink, then a year or so later it was every single night they "had" to do it.

Yar fortunately I don't think I'm an alcoholic... But perhaps it's the drinking culture in the UK, if you want to go out here at the weekend there's not much choice- you go to a pub or a club & you prolly have to be rather headstrong to go out 5+ years & keep to coke every single time... Especially after university lifestyle. Perhaps things are different in Amaraka?

I'm not bashing it BTW, had I the choice I'd prefer to be sober some weekends & I have gone teetotal for a month or so before. But I also don't regret drinking, I wouldn't have done half the stuff I've done had I been sober biggrin:
