its the same fuc%&*@ person! How can u guys not see it? Why would he call upham's name before he is shot by him? And dont you see the irony that was set by spielberg? Miller lets him go but he is later shot by him. It plays with the movie. Its the same person! why would the camera focuse so much on him then?? Why would the camera give you good shots of his face? so you can see its the same person! [/quote:541b5]
They are talking about the German soldier who killed Mellish, not Miller, with the knife and then walked past Upham on the staircase. You're thinking of the part where the Kraut shoots Miller. So, as you can now see... they are right, it's not the same guy. Also, if you really take a look at it, there's about 30+ airborne guys there, and they are fairly well supplied, they just said that the mortars may as well be spitwads, even if they had the tubes, if the Krauts rolled up on them with tanks.

Well, thats the last time i jump into something without actually knowing what "it" is. biggrin:

Ok - for those people who really are blind and confused (not Interestedviewer) - the guy at the Radar Station "SteamBoat Willy" is the same guy who shoots Miller and is shot by Upham - but the guy who kills Mellish is not the same guy. His uniform is irrelevant as when they release him at the station Ryven or whatever his name is protests that he will be icked up by his own side and that is what happens - the forces that attack the Bridge are of a similar rag-tag nature as those defending:

and now screenshot proof:

First - Steamboat Willy at the radar station:

Two - The anonymous SS who kills Mellish (post murder) - NOT Steamboat Willy

Third - Steamboat Willy, just before he kills Miller (my, my, doesn't he look familiar).

I hope that settles it - and some of you out there might want to book an oppointment with your local opticians.

Actually I knew that the guy who shot miller and is killed by Upham is steamboat willy, Interestedviewer thought that the guy who killed mellish was also steamboat willy that is what I was disagreeing with

Rev Aristotle Jones 08-30-2002 02:43 PM

So, to recap:

Steamboat Willy is an actor playing a German soldier, not an early cartoon character who evolved into Mickey Mouse.
Mickey Mouse...I mean Steamboat Willy....I mean the actor playing the German called Steamboat Willy, but not the Steamboat Willy who evolved into Mickey Mouse is freed by Forrest Gump, I mean Tom Hanks the actor playing Captain Miller.
While defending the bridge, Mellish is killed, not by Mickey Mouse, nor Steamboat Willy, nor the actor playing a character known as Steamboat Willy, but by another actor playing a German.
However, Forrest Gump, no, the guy from 'Mermaid', I mean Tom Hanks, no Captain Miller is then shot with an unscoped Kar98 by the actor known as Mickey Mouse, or is that Steam Boat Willy (who is subsequently shot by Upham - too little too late).

So everyone is correct and everyone is Sneezy, I mean Happy.
