[quote:5d2ac]It is a good movie, one of the best, but you people don't know that because niether tom hanks, tom seizmore, or mel gibson is in that movie[/quote:5d2ac]

But it's got Ron Eldard, Frank Whaley & The country singer guy....

SPR is on right now, I got a laugh when Ryan says "they're tankbusters, P-51s"
If a grunt could ID one plane as a tankbuster it would be the P-47 Thunderbolt, they were the grunt's best friend in the European theater.

BTW, how did Miller die? it looked liuke he just got shot in the hand and then got the wind knocked out of him by the explosion.

Just watched When Trumpets Fade...my grandpa would love the movie, it blew me away

a man after my own heart!
Kelly's Heroes rules man.

also just about any John Wayne war movie is pretty good, which is where I got this name.

Bazooka_Joe 11-11-2002 10:14 AM

Battle of the Bulge was great for it's day, but the gore and realistic enviroment in SPR outdid it, until BoB was made.

Windtalkers sucked!!!! Saving Private Ryan and Thin Red Line are the best WW2 movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Static 11-11-2002 06:11 PM

Well I love BoB but its not a movie and I liked SPR but what they hey I'll vote BoB angel:

The best World War II movie made?? .....

THE WINTER WAR!!!!

If you haven't seen it yet, Get your ass down to that video Store and rent it on the double! Excellent movie! You won't want to miss it! Story follows a group of Finnish soldiers through the brutal fighting of the Russo-Finish campaign of 1939-40

Another good film is "STALINGRAD" the German version from 1993. It's a really sad tragedy of a group of German soldiers fighting in the epic battle of Stalingrad.. It's really a sad picture, as you empathise for the men in their desperate fight the downward spiral to cling to their sanity and humanity as eventual hopelessness sets in. A very emotional picture.. I loved it.

This is kinda of amazing Pearl harbor finaly got 2 votes lol i feel sorry for them. For all u BOB fans out there BOB is on DVD and VHS but on DVD its like $90.00 bucks for the hole series so empty out your pockets or just record the dam thing on HBO.

[9Para]Tipper 11-14-2002 06:45 AM

pvt ryan and BOB of COURSE

bored 11-14-2002 12:36 PM

BOB gets my vote because most ww2 movies these days are either historicallly inacurate ,make mistakes e.g. weapons or clothing that has not been invented or made yet and most ww2 movies these days are AMERICAN BULLSHIT like having americans fight a particular important battle BUT it was ACTUALLY BRITISH WHO FOUGH IN THE BATTLE .A main example of this was utter shit film U-571

=BA-MF=LoneGunner65=2nd=c 11-20-2002 12:28 PM

Looks like BOB wins even though the hole movie is 89 dollars on DVD for sale.

Innoxx 11-20-2002 12:29 PM

Christ, another pvt. Jackson/cpt. Miller wannabe.

SS-NaPPo 11-20-2002 02:20 PM
