Uh..... I dont think you want an iPod for hiking. You'd probably freak if it fell. I've been jogging (Im not a yuppie, its for cross-country) with my Shuffle (I just take a thick, loose rubber band and wrap it around my hand with the Shuf. - no need for a $30 cloth band) and its fell more than twice. And I freaked when it did. You dont want that thing to get scratched.

Get the new ipod with the color screen it has like a 17 hour battery life, mine has a 10 hour one, i bought my 20 gig and a month later the color screen ones came out...fuck life....

Just get this case for it misc http://www.speckproducts.com/toughskin.html

I have one for when i goto drill with the Marines, works beautifully, if you drop it, it wont break.

the zen comes with two batteries ... if i remeber correctly the charge time is pretty damn long too ... id say with both of those bats charged they would last you 3 days.

i dunno if the ipod would last 3 days or not ... i guess it just depends on how long you listen.

The new iPod Nano. Buy it. Period. Short. Sentences. Stop. Plz.

I love my Shuffle, but hate Apple at the same time. They're all a bunch of fags IMHO, yuppies for all I care. I absolutely hate how they turned their white computes into a literal cult.

Dont go for ipod if you want good battery life. My Zen Touch battery lasts about 24hours

It has 1 less gig but oh well. Like i said if a song repeats oh well. That 50 hour battery life means i could listen to it nearly non stop. See this is how i end up torn on what to buy.

Also why the fuck would i drop it? I wouldnt be holding it, it would be in my ruck with the cords out. So theres no real problem with it falling.

TGB! 09-10-2005 01:13 PM

The ONLY advantage of the NANO over the REGULAR Ipod is that its not HD based anymore (which means no more waiting for songs to load up from start or from pause) -

Still I wouldnt get one - and DEFINITELY wouldnt get one solely for that reason. Ive seen people say they are going out to buy one even though they already have an iPod and I gotta ask "why" -

The MAIN gripe I had with the mini was that it was TOO damn small. . .I like being able to know I have something - not fucking around in my bag looking for something smaller than a box of matches. The only good thing about the smaller iPod is I dont have every damn song on there and actually have to choose what music I want to listen to for the day. Other than that - its pointless to me. Great product, but JOB's is seriously killing his market with over-saturation.

And the ROKR is supposed to be shit.

If I were going to get another Port Player - it would be the GIGABEAT.

DRM? is that like digital recorder? if so yes...

Doctor Duffy 09-10-2005 10:51 PM

I keep trying to figure out why they keep releasing new versions of iTunes. The only difference I found after downloading the new one is that its looks have changed. I mean, somethings going on behind enemy lines here, I dont see how a little face-change can cost me 30MB.

It might be the new QuickTime 7 that's bloated it up.
