Maybe, I do know guys that are into their cars, their first car was probably a big deal to them, too - Car culture is pretty damn huge down here as well....

I'm just saying not everyone is into their cars so it's not very fair to judge people on their entire character based on whether or not they personally paid (with mondey earned from a job) for their first car or not - Infact, it's absurd....Not everyone treats their first vehicle as this special life milestone.

yep, i agree.

I can imagine it would....I'd get fed up with human-cyborg hybrids telling me how to live my life.

First car was a Nissan 240SX, got it for $1,200 i liked it alot, but i blew the head gasket and sold it. RWD was fun, infact doing donuts in a parking lot in the snow is what killed it.

You keep saying im judging you. I havent said anything remotely like that. I only intended this thread to talk about peoples first cars. Thought it might entertaining and it was. I enjoyed seeing some of the first cars guys have owned.

If you look at a car as something you have to piss away money on then i see why you feel the way you do. Most guys cant wait for time they can own thier own ride. It was that way for me. When i finally was able to buy the car i really wanted ( 69 vette) i treated that car like it was made of gold. Its a wonder i didnt rub off the paint with all the wax i put on that thing. I put just about every penny i made in that car.

You say you spent your money on a computer. When i bought the vette i dont have that option. Al gore hadnt invented the internet yet. biggrin:

It was a 69 hard top convertable....take off the hard top and if you get caught in the rain it had a convertable top you could pop up. It was red white and blue, american racing wheels, indy profiles on the back, 4 inch rims on the front. hooker header chrome sidepipes. bored and stroked 350 small block, 4 speed tranny with a compitition clutch.

Pretty badass ride if i do say so my self....it was at the front of several parades in the area. ( wish i still had that car) rolleyes:

I couldnt agree more, i was young and stupid. Now im old regretful. Not to mention it would be worth 10 times what i paid for it.

By the way, this will kill ya. I bought that 69 vette in cherry condition in 1972. A 3 old corvette!!! for $4200.00 from a dealer lot!!!

How times have changed.

Scooter Pie 09-22-2005 11:24 PM
