I thought it was a great episode, yet unsatisfying at the same time...my stepbrother and I were like "oh fuck, what happened to the tv? did you sit on th e remote dude?"

tomxtr 06-11-2007 09:03 AM

When I saw the credits rolling, I thought to myself, that being the last episode, they were going to roll the credits and cut back to the final scene and close with some action.

It was kind of a let down, but the Phil scene was worth it.

elstatec 06-11-2007 09:11 AM

swfgsukghk gay at least maybe hear a gunshot but no just the bell ringing then blank.

do like how it leaves it to end on any way you think it should

r.i.p sopranos, i am going to miss you!

Art Attack 06-11-2007 11:03 AM

the phil scene was worth watching it, say bye bye to grampa.

r.i.p sopranos, i am going to miss you!

yeah, they did a pretty good job tieing everything up, and leaving you with the notion that even though they got Philly, Tony is still a marked man and he's still not safe.

RaNgeR 06-11-2007 01:08 PM

I think they left it that Tony was still on top, and he could get anyone to do what he wanted them to do...the kid helping with the movie, paulie taking control while Tony will be on trial, and the wife looking at homes/being in the business still.

elstatec 06-11-2007 01:11 PM

paulie would not be in control, that whole part was just to make him a captain as carlo flipped.

RaNgeR 06-11-2007 02:22 PM

Regardless, he still talked him into it.

Sergeant_Scrotum 06-11-2007 04:06 PM

who was Carlo again?

TonyMontana 06-11-2007 04:38 PM
who was Carlo again?[/quote:3b6cf]

elstatec 06-11-2007 05:18 PM

its a shame because i liked that dude, especially when he stabbed that fat dude who came over breaking balls when silvio was there.

just a shame you don't get to see a closure to this, its more like it feels like one of those endings that are yet to be continued, except it aint

and that cat, rofl thought it was bugged by the fbi or what not.

want some gabbagool?

guess next thing is for me to watch all episodes from the start again.

rofl paulie, when he always repeats the joke he says.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL2ZgKQssR8

rofl i love the sopranos. season 4 was the best.

i miss furio!

Milla 06-11-2007 09:30 PM

Here is what someone says on youtube about the ending of the Sopranos, what do you guys think?

[quote:94cbc]tony and bobby were talkin earlier about how wen u get shot in the head everything goes black...it was earlier this season i think...the view witched to tonys view just like it did everytime someone walked thru the door...so i think he got shot by the dude coming outta the bathroom...nobody was sitting next to him so he had a clear shot...TONY R.I.P.....thats my interpretation[/quote:94cbc]

TonyMontana 06-11-2007 10:03 PM

here's a big theory

[quote:1d0d0] dont know if i totally agree with this post i saw somewhere else, but here is a theory, and something that might make you all think it was better than we thought...

"He was killed....

in fact, the ending was genius if you've paid attention to the show or
are just a fan of well developed well thought out plots that all tie
together and have the memory of a champ to remember it all

the ending was simple, he got killed, but let me tell yall why and
explain in detail... There was 3 people in the room total who had a
reason to kill tony.....

the two black guys, they were paid before to kill tony but he was only
shot in the ear, this was in one of the earlier seasons,

also in the earlier seasons, the trucker who was sitting at the bar
stool, who the camera kept focusing in on, is Nikki leotardo, Phil
Leotardos nephew, he was in one of the early season episodes where Phil
and Tony have a sit down....

heres where the genius comes in....

When tonys walking in the diner, you see the camera focus on him, then
it switches to his perspective, and you see him looking @ the booth hes
gonna sit at...

then the camera switches back to tonys face, then it once again
switches to his perspective, and it shows him looking @ the door and
looking @ the people come in..... Everytime the door opens the Chimes
sound....... Carmela walks in, Chimes, AJ walks in Chimes, this when
Meadows parallel parking, still trying to get inside the restaurant....

at this point the camera switches back to the trucker who goes in the
bathroom......

Then it goes to a scene where meadow finally parks and starts running
in the diner....

the doors about to open, Tony looks up....

and No Chimes......................

No Music............

Everything just goes black...............

In one of the early episodes of the sopranos, tonys talking with bobby
about what it must feel like to die..

Bobby says "at the end, you probably dont hear anything, everything
just goes black"

part of that was revisited in the second to last episode during the
last seconds of it, when tonys about to go to sleep and he flashes back
to the memory of him and bobby on the boat... "You probably dont hear
anything everything just goes black"

so in the end, the Journey song was playing, the chimes on the door
sounded but when meadow came in, the guy in the trucker hat came out and
killed tony...

its the reason you don't hear, or see anything when he died.... it was from
his perspective.... and everything went black, then the credits rolled.[/quote:1d0d0]

damn..some guy on an ESPN.com article said that aswell..
[quote:c8352]M.S.A. (Houston): Hey Bill, what's your favorite episode of Sopranos? Mine has to be the one where Chris and Paulie are stuck in the snow and are trying to kill the Russian and some how they end up spending the night in an abandoned van, dining on ketchup packets and blaming each other. Best episode ever.

SportsNation Bill Simmons: My favorite - the fifth one in Season One when he took Meadow college-hunting. That was the episode when the potential of the show was realized. And it still holds up. I thought that was an astounding hour of TV.

Milla 06-11-2007 10:56 PM

I could of sworn i heard a bell chime when meadow walked in.

Madmartagen 06-11-2007 11:15 PM

that episode sucked, i wanted to see tony get whacked

Milla 06-12-2007 12:40 AM

I honestly did not want to see Tony die, they should of just ended it when he was looking at those ducks, that would of been a better ending.

elstatec 06-12-2007 08:31 AM

one thing i have always loved about the sopranos is the music they use, weather it be in the show or right at the end on the credits.

elstatec 06-12-2007 10:47 AM

actually did anyone notice that Tony saw himself seated in the restuarant as he is walking in, bit weird how it kinda jumped on that.

guess they have left it open ended to leave the show and characters fresh in your mind.

i just can't get over it

Sergeant_Scrotum 06-12-2007 07:16 PM

two days now and I still keep thinking about it, as far as those previous season connections go, Id like to see that confirmed before I believe that. thw two black guys and the trucker.

Milla 06-12-2007 07:18 PM

Supposedly I hear on the DVD coming out you actually can see Tony get whacked. But thats just lip service, no idea how true that is.

Whatada 06-12-2007 07:27 PM

anybody smell movie?

Sergeant_Scrotum 06-12-2007 07:31 PM

OK, believe it or not I had that season one episode on my computer, downloaded Sept. 8th 2001l. After comparing the two...I dunno...one of the black guys does look very similar, the other guy im not sure. I have no idea how to take a screenshot of a media player window but yet...thats actually kind of crazy. trying too keep in mind its now 8 years later, they will have changed a bit, tho one of the guys has a very similar facial layout. Hard call on that one, I want some high def captions.

Milla 06-12-2007 07:34 PM

If anyone killed Tony it was the trucker. He was behind him in the bathroom

elstatec 06-12-2007 08:17 PM

[quote:bd89d]nah none of those guys are from previous series about all the Holsten's patrons being characters from earlier in the series. The actor playing Member's Only guy had never been on the show, Tony killed at least one, if not both, of his carjackers, and there are about 17 other things wrong with this popular but incorrect theory.[/quote:bd89d]

well there were 3 alternate endings so im sure you will see something like that

Sergeant_Scrotum 06-13-2007 08:22 PM

heres another theory:

[quote:85aaf]I'm thinkin' it was us the audience that got whacked.

If you were to get whacked, you wouldn't know it was coming. Everybody was paranoid something was going to happen, the bell rings and the screen goes black.

We the audience have seen everything these folk have done from start to finish. We knew too much, we had to die.

So we the audience got whacked.

End of the story.......for us. [/quote:85aaf]

Milla 06-15-2007 11:00 PM

I just noticed, you aren't looking through Tonys eyes when it blacks out, you are looking right at him, so i dont think he is killed at all.

then it is the audience that gets whacked!

Madmartagen 06-16-2007 09:34 AM

some people were telling me about all these clues, but im not following that stuff - its pretty much make whatever you want out of them. whatever they showed on tv is what happened imo.

Eight Ace 06-16-2007 06:46 PM

when it was aired in Australia, you saw it fade to black from Tonys viewpoint
and just at the very end he refocused to see:

Milla 06-16-2007 07:19 PM

What the fuck is that?!

RaNgeR 06-18-2007 05:42 PM

The audience whacked is a stupid theory..I personally believe this one :

Chase is using the final scene to place the viewer into Tony's mindset. This is how he sees the world: every open door, every person walking past him could be coming to kill him, or arrest him or otherwise harm him or his family. This is his life, even though the paranoia's rarely justified. We end without knowing what Tony's looking at because he never knows what's coming next.

Im hooked on Dont Stop Belivin' by journey...I even set it as my ringtone.

Nyck 06-22-2007 10:25 PM

finally watched it, fucked ending. pretty disappointed.

Sergeant_Scrotum 06-25-2007 09:54 PM

Was driving to the dealership to trade my car in and pick up my new one, just as im getting within a few km awayfrom the dealership, the last few km I will ever drive in that car, Journey - Don't Stop Believing came on. I swear it just caused havoc with my emotions, combination of the sopranos plus getting rid of my old car. Talk about a going away/change song.
