Hmm, well i was going to edit my other post, but it looks like we cant edit posts anymore for some reason...

I was gonna say that i dont really like abortions but if you get raped, or if you cant afford a baby, you should get one to save yourself, and the baby from shitty lives.

As I said before, as did many others, I dont believe you should get an abortion if you cant afford the baby, once again, In cases of rape then thats another thing, but just because you cant afford/dont want the baby...thats no reason not to have it for the answer is adoption.

I didn't read all the posts, i'll just give you my take on the subject.

Most people have abortions why? Because they had a baby because they had unprotected sex, she is a slut and perhaps the condom broke or she forgot to take her pills.

All of these reasons for one to have an abortion doesn't seem right to me. I would ahve to say that people need to become more responsible. If you go around sleeping with every guy you see and you get pregnant...TOUGH SHIT. Its your own god damn fault. And it serves you right.

With that said, I don't know if it is moral to kill off a child in the fetal stages of life. But thats not what i'm getting at. Most of the people who want to ahve abortions are irresponsible and therefore shouldn't be allowed, regardless if it is moral and everyone thinks its ok to have an abortion.

But you see if abortion is only allowed for raped victims then every single girl would say they have been raped.

Adoption sucks. It ruins the kids life... They will spend their whole sad life searching for their povo parents while getting raped by some fucked up adoption parents.

I see absolutely no problem with abortion. Also, I find your negative
positions on the subject quite surprising, considering most of you are
atheists. In any case, I am pro-abortion; no matter what the excuse.

The dark side to abortions, is that you have to watch a dead baby fall out of you (or your vVife). =S

I can understand that some people "feel" that abortion is wrong. I can
also fathom why others would deem it correct. Make no mistake: this is a
subjective topic and no matter what your stance on it, people should have
the freedom of choice to choose whether or not they wish to undertake
the operation.

And please guys, let's not be conditional about it: either abortion is
legal no matter what the reason (be it rape or a simple refusal to bring
the pregnancy to term) or it is outlawed.

Here's my stand on abortion:

A plant or even an apple, has probably more cells than a tiny spec of a fetus, yet we kill the apple. I consider all living beings equal to eachother, hence why I'm atheist. Killing a human is equal to killing a cow, or killing a tree to me. The tree has more cells and lives longer than all of the forementioned beings anyway, so doesn't it conrtibute more to the environment than one human? Eh, it's all moral views, and everyone sees them differently. The hardest thing is to try to expell yourself from what you have been taught all your life. That is very difficult, but once you see the big picture of life, you will see that we are hipocrites by saying, I eat cow, yet I want a fetus to live.

who fuckin cares let everyone have fuckin abortions, just less people in the world we have plenty already

It's nice to know in this ever changing world of ours filled with uncertainties ( I mean JOES a mod now? - who next...Juh-Juh-JASPER!???), that ignorance still abounds here.

First off, those who consider a fetus not a living thing need to just go ahead and get a little existential and realize that a (LIVING)sperm, and a (LIVING -HINT HINT HINT HINT HINT!!) egg came together. They didn't pop out a lifeless thing mateys. The fetus is alive from that moment on, so YES you ARE killing something that is living. It of course does NOT have the cognitive, or even physical charecteristics that we have now, but guess what - it's growing. It's still there.

As far as when and where abortion should be legal...I do not qualify rape, incest, etc. as valid instances for abortion. So what we are saying is, lets kill one living thing so that it doesnt inconveniece another. Yes that son or daughter will be a CONSTANT reminder of what happened. But guess what, that kid may grow up to be a great leader of the free world and outweigh any selfishness on the part of the rapist. Or he could grow up to find inspiration in The Clan Ball Wook. Either way - you dont know.

Which bring up another reason why most women have abortions - cause they WONT give it up once it's born. This is FACT. Look at home many times folks get all up in a tizzy when a woman has a baby, and said baby has already been PROMISED to be given up, and lookie here - heres the kid, and now Mom doesnt want to give the child up. Happens alot. Which, again, is a BULLSHIT excuse. Yes, kill a child because you cant deal with the overwhelming feeling of love that you have for this life that you have brought into this world. Golly, humans and their priorities eh.

As far as abortions being legal only in RAPES and how do you prove it - there are things called rape kits you understand. And if a woman chooses to wait out of shame and fear - tough shit.

And - in all this, there is ALWAYS the "morning after" pill which PREVENTS conception from even happening. DESPITE what all you nerds have learned from the opening scene in LOOK WHOS TALKING, conception is NOT instant. If I'm not mistaken the pill simulates a meunstration and dislodges the egg so that it cannot get impregnated.
