Just heard about it when i walked in the door at 11 o'clock, its a damn shame cry:

there are also reports that it may have been the tire pressure of the space shuttles tires. the last communication was reportedly about the tire pressure... the pilot said 'roger' and was about to say something else and then the transmission ended. If the tires exploded it would have ripped open the landing gear doors exposing the bottom of the spacecraft to the heat of re-entry...

not to mention the pressure of win at 12,000mph+ on a flat surface such as the landing gear bay's
