Freespace 2 is my favorite. Freelancer is great and all. But they said it was completely open ended. Then why can't I go to all the other star systems? Why do I have to level up to get new ships, and how come I have to work for the LSF for the first half the game? Still a great game though, just wish it really was completely open ended.

the mp is pretty open-ended

Just played the demo .. ed:

35mins before completion of buying the game. *drools*

Damn, my car sucks, been driving to the store to "buy" the game for 3 1/2 hours, and by my calculation, I've got 4 hours, 3 oil changes, and 7 bathroom breaks until I can play it. Damn vintage Cadillac V16...

I was on my way to get it when i realised im to lazy. No really i just want to know more about the multiplayer. Is it completly seperate from the Single or does your gear carry over, meaning you can make bank off line and dominate online? Also what do you do online? Just play single player missions but the other pilots are people not AI?
you can't carry anything over from sp. mp is like sp with no storyline.
So its flying around killing shit and getting money for it? So its deathmatch in space... GAY.
with about 20 different factions who either kill you or help you on sight depending on your reputation with them, along with their bases equipment etc
Getting back to what you were saying. . .you can crash into planets? What about buildings and crap?
yes, depending on your shield strength they'll take a hit or if you're out you'll damage your hull or die. there are also hazards like radioactive asteroid fields, dark matter, radiation from the sun etc
