So what's next...LAN party?

Zoner 08-22-2003 11:51 AM

HAW HAW! Yup, and pocket protectors for ALL!

Here's the thing that I just cant wrap my head around - understandably this is a MOH site. That's what gets the folks in. But how in goodness name is OT STILL connected to MOH when it is just that. . .OT. That makes no sense to me. If someone wants to say - yanno what Off Topic should be this this this and this, and none of this - then fine some of us will curb our enthusiasm. As it is, some of the more "nonsensical" post are the funnest. Hell there was a post inciting a flame - but it was done in good intentions to ONLY have fun. Yet it was locked.

And yea, the n00bs hop on here and try to emulate the laid back style and irreverence of the "vets", but isn't it the mods job to step in and say - that's not accepted here, and dish out bans or whatnot? If our actions are incredibly horrible then by all means ban ban ban the man.

I think the problem is that the inflammatory attitude that is omnipresent in the Offtopic threads seeps out into the other sections of the forum that actually do deal with MoH topics.

This infects totally legitimate MoH threads and questions with useless flaming and general velcro-shoe mentality. It's kinda like a virus.

Ask the guys in the MMS section about this. They'll say that 99% of the posts there went into the shitter because some b00n thought it would be cool to show off and do some thread-wrecking cock swinging.

Offtopic does not equal anarchy. that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be fun. Personally, I loved the silly threads about Twizzlers and 80s hair bands. They'd get locked (by me anyway) once they got mired in inevitable flaming.

too many long fuckin post, good god, this thread is becoming a fucking book!!

i dont know what everyones problem is and i dont really care biggrin:
i come here for the drama and i stay for the mansehks

Zoner 08-22-2003 12:16 PM

heh..sorry jibber. I'lll release the thread as a "Book on Tape" so you can listen to it when you go to bed.

ED's voice is gonna be performed by Gilbert Gottfried. I think Denis Leary is doing mine...but they might get that voice whore John Goodman again. biggrin:

Exactly, it IS like a virus because it spreads into the rest of the forum. It is well known my problem with the vets is because of this. Elitest mentality or ego problems or whatever you want to call it, it turns into a competition whenever someone new comes to the forums and tries to ask a question. As you may or may not notice I don't frequent the forum much, I have an average of a little over 1 post a day. I used to come here to help whenever I could but every thread I posted in was overshadowed by the constant flames from...big surprise, the spammers. This is a fustrating thing indeed and trying to fend off the negativity here with little to no support is a pain in the ass. So I just try to put the idiots in their place from time to time. It's fun watching them squirm.

LOL at ED's voice.

And in John Goodmans defense, he only does voices for characters that look like him.

Can I be Judy Dench? biggrin:

I'm a pretty big guy...John Goodman would be appropriate, even though he still outweighs me by about 200lbs.

Hey Rudedog, I'm surprised you actually came back to type at this forum. I tis amazing how useless this board has become, when I compare it to other forums I visit. The rudeness in here is unmatched. I am curious as to why you would come back here? I ask myself the same question...

1080jibber 08-22-2003 12:28 PM

long posts make me think, and i dont like that...it hurts on the inside

I still read and check up on her from day to day. I just hide my presence via my profile cool:

I still have feelings for the board and the aa.com community. I do not post news ( not that I could right now LOL ) and I have not posted anywhere else on the board with the exception of a follow up answer someone needed.

Like they say, it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. .
