Anyone have any ideas as to which parts I can get for around $400. What I want to get is RAM, a CPU and mainboard, thats it. Im looking at an AMD XP3000, a stick of 512mb of corsair Ram but am willing to be flexible on this stuff. Any suggestions. Price watch is ok, but I want to look at more places.

http://www.newegg.com
http://www.zipzoomfly.com http://www.frozencpu.com http://www.xoxide.com you can get an xp 2500+ barton for 81 dollars on newegg. overclock it to at least an xp 3000+. if you read the reviews that xp 2500 chip is unlocked and ppl say they can run it at xp 3200+ speeds with no problem. just be sure to get some artic silver thermal compound, and a bigtime cpu fan like so: http://www.xoxide.com/comajet7coak.html or something similiar. a must for overclockin. no need to spend more money on a xp 3000 or 3200 when you can overclock the 2500 for way cheaper. for the ram, zipzoom sometimes has better prices than newegg. i got my corsair twinx pair of 512 xms 3200c2pt strips for 207 bucks...new egg wanted 225 for them. so, if you want a gig of ram...you can get a nice gig for around 200...the cpu for 80..and a nice asus a7n8x deluxe here http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... WSE&depa=1 for 85 bucks...so thats 165 for the cpu and mobo, choose your ram...you got about 150 to spend on it depending on your budget .... hope that helps beer: |
Sweet, thanks alot for the help. In return, I will dedicate a nooner for ya. beer:
