+ let the japenses build a muscle v8 of their own, it would eat the living shit out of anything. THey just haven't done it yet. In japan their is a unwritten rule between the major auto makers, no car built with more then 276 HP stock, although it is done with a few. All im saying is if the japenese ever built muscle, it would own the lving shit out of every AMerican muscle car out.

Look at the V8 in Jap trucks. They are small, high revving low torque low horsepower engines. exactly what you dont want for a truck that youre going to tow with. Do you know why chevy still uses OHV engines in their trucks and faster cars? Because theyve been kicking ass since the 50's.

Yenk 427 Camaro, LS6 Chevelle 454, Dodge hemi>cavalier with a big wing and a cold air intake, honda with 20,000 in entertainment

Sure they get arond 8 mpg, but they look damn good doing it

MrLevinstein 07-05-2004 08:16 AM

Toyota Tundra v8
Horsepower 240-hp @ 4,800 rpm
Torque 315 lbs.-ft. @ 3,400 rpm
# of valves 32
Fuel economy city 15 mpg
Fuel economy highway 18 mpg
Fuel tank capacity 26 gal.

Nissan Titan
Horsepower 305-hp @ 4,900 rpm
Torque 379 lbs.-ft. @ 3,600 rpm
# of valves 32
Fuel economy city 14 mpg
Fuel economy highway 18 mpg
Fuel tank capacity 28 gal.

And since those are the Japanese top engine choices now lets see chevy

Engine liters 8.1
Cylinder configuration V-8
Horsepower 330-hp @ 4,200 rpm
Torque 450 lbs.-ft. @ 3,200 rpm
# of valves 16
Sequential MPI
Fuel type unleaded
Ignition type electronic
Engine orientation longitudinal

Engine liters 6.0
Cylinder configuration V-8
Horsepower 345-hp @ 5,200 rpm
Torque 380 lbs.-ft. @ 4,000 rpm
# of valves 16
Fuel economy city 13 mpg
Fuel economy highway 17 mpg
Fuel tank capacity 26 gal.

You're right short, Japanese V8s would kill american v8's with their design.

LOL @ chevy

5.7L hemi stats: 345 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque yet its 2.4L smaller.

now if you look at the biggest dodge engine, the 8.3L V10 That churns out a wopping 500 horsepower and 525 pound-feet of torque. Now thats serious power.

Short Hand 07-05-2004 08:57 AM

im talking about a performance car negine, not some truck engine. Japenese trucks suck shit. If you want a truck buy a fucking ford. If they built a real performance v8 i assure you it would rape any american muscle on the market. The fact is the Engine in the Skyline is pure perfection in engineering, while these truck engines are hastily readied and designed in comparision. Were not tlaking about trucks here, lets tlak about a performance car one. Which they haven'tbuilt yet so its really hard to say. But when they do I assure you it will shut your face up.

There will never be a Japanese muscle car...1. Muscle cars stopped around 1973...2. Muscle cars are about putting BIG Naturally aspirated engines in relative cars, Ricers are putting BIG spoilers on small hatchbacks and putting Nitrous Oxide to raise horsepower for 3 second which can blow your engine, Nitrous Oxide is for pussies...3. Japanese cars don't have V8s and never will with all this environment shit going on you dumb shit

Wow.. Ever heard of export or foreign markets?

Then again, who gives a flying fuck?

That guy laughing in the pic's has me rolling !! Funny dude.

As for rice, i only saw ONE car, ONE fucking rice car that i actually liked. To be honest, i couldn't tell you what make it was but it didn't have all those stupid ass body panels or worthless wings on it. It was very low-keyed without those bling bling rims and the best part about this car that made it stand out was..............it didn't sound like my fuckin' lawn mower. This car sounded throaty, almost like it had an 8 in it. All rice should've been modeled after this car.

Oh, wanna talk about funny? I passed a couple of "neon lighted" ricers at 110mph in a MINIVAN!! Those fuckers got beat by a soccer mom car...BUWAHAAHAHA !!

No i just got it really dirty to cover up the bare spots.

Sergeant_Scrotum 07-05-2004 10:39 AM

my friends famlie used to own an olds stationwagon with a 305 v8 in it. I guess when going down the 401 they would get too see all the pissed off bmw drivers sit there & watch as a station wagon passed them doing 165kmh because all the BMWs were limited at 160kmh by the governors. I can only imagine the look on their faces.

That thing isnt even a real hemi, it just stole the name, ask any mechanic. I couldnt drive a dodge, mainly because the trannys suck, they have horrible styling and always have been shit compared to chevy and ford. for 20 hp less I can drive a truck that will alst forever wont blow transmissions and doesnt look like a puffer fish. Oh and that engine has 75 less ft pounds of torque and as we all know when you tow you need the torque

Know what is funny? The z06 vette is .10 slower in the quarter mile then the fastest viper ever, despite having 95 hp less and around 75 ft pounds torque less. Know why? Engineering, chevys body is not only lighter, but it looks better and is more aerodynamic, not to mention the z06 runs for $53,000 and the viper is at least $93,000. The z06 also has a quieter ride and better gas mileage.

And btw short the muslce car era is over, your dumbass wouldnt even know what would constite a muscle car anyways. Muscle cars were dirt cheap, somewhat cheaply made cars with big engines to go fast. usually no fancy features and nothing special besides the engine, tranny and suspension.
