Get a fucking grip, pretty much every gig poster I see downtown has colour. Unless you're REALLY poor (Try homeless), you should be able to afford at least a 3 colour job. I should know, as I do graphic communications at university (Print & Design).

Those are concert posters, this is a gig poster contest. Sorry to say, but newt is right. The aspect of a gig poster is a piece of art, the usually don't have much to do with concerts and have low amounts of color. The bands you posted started out printing little shit posters when they started out and now they have the millions of dollars to spend on advertisement. If I was more strict i would be disqualifying a lot of entries, but I'm such a nice guy I'll let it slide. Just try to keep in mind while your judging that you should be advised to follow the guidlines.

-Show artistic qualities
-A theme (usually doesn't tell anything about the bands)
-Don't use pictures of the actual band members
-Eye Catching
-Legible
-Date of the show
-Poster size/shape
-For this DW we also won't use actual bands but use your forum name as the main band (opening bands can be added also)


Please use http://gigposters.com as a reference, not fiftycents.com
