I retract my statement. You have an opinion.

are you surprised? Equality will never be achieved in this world where people keep pointing out/embracing their differences. Once people are able to ignore comments like "nappy headed hos" and not feel that "their proud history is being disrespected," equality will have been achieved. Diversity and Affirmative Action are just bringing down the idea that "everyone was created equal", since all it does is make people feel more superior than others.

Can you say that blacks feel more superior with Affirmative Action?

I know if I had the governement openly admitting that I couldn't get a job because I was born with off white skin it wouldn't make me feel so superior.

Snoop Dogg did a rather disturbing interview today when they asked him why he can say "hos" and whatnot in his songs, and his response is because he's grown up in tough neighborhoods so it's ok that he says that. Double standard.

My whole point of the debate is not to defend Imus, but to put it across that the Rutgers girls team and any African American woman should look at their own people before they start playing the racist/sexist card on other people. Just look at any rapper, they use the words like it's nothing, and in the music videos the women are portrayed as objects. Yet we don't see African Americans or Al Sharpton protesting them, they have those rappers on their iPod.

Truth is, Imus said an apology and that was more than enough. The fight between blacks and whites has been around since the beginning of time and isn't going anywhere soon. It's sad but true. But it's situations like these where people backlash against each other that feeds it rather than heals it.

I'll stop by NBC tomorrow after class and say a prayer for Imus.

yeah, i'm pretty sure his television show was just canceled. The "simulcast" is the video of him doing his show that they put on tv, like the Howard Stern show used to be on E! or whatever channel it was on.

my question to you guys (white) is is there ever a time when a black person says something about whites that you ever get offended?

It's usually on the news for a day and brushed off the next day. White's aren't that dramatic as their counterparts.

Tripper 04-11-2007 10:18 PM

Sparks, you're full of it. Generalising all over the place. You're as racist as they come simply because you're putting all blacks into a single negative catergory.

Too bad the most outspoken people are generally the more ignorant.

Please don't send Jesse Jackson to my door, please.
