I restarted my console to load a new game of GTA4, it got to the loading screen with all the pictures on it and I heard a scratching noise so I immediately ejected the disk......

I noticed the console had scratched the disc in a perfect semi-circle......WTF

I hadn't moved the console at all and it had been sitting horizontally, NOT vertically. This is fucked up, I haven't turned it back on since and I'm going to ring Microsoft now

Rockstar say I have to pay £25 to get the disk replaced! will microsoft be able to pay that? can I force them to? I basically have to send my 360 back to get repaired, only had it for 3 days too, fuck this shit

sorry to hear that dude. must of gotten an old model as they were prone to that whilst being upright.

microsoft might take a while but seeing as though you bought the 360 only a week ago take it back to the seller as they might do a direct swap.

Polish the scratch with some toothpaste. If it's a deep scratch see if there are any places where you live (try Blockbusters) that will resurface the disk.

Put a little bit on a cloth and wipe it in circles around the disc. It will cost you two bucks and Wal-mart.
