Yeah certain dance beats are good, but remember just like every other genre on earth the one's that are getting the fame are ususally the worst the genre has to offer, im surs rap is good, but ja rule makes me think not. Rock is the shit! but limp bizkit ruined it's image... get the point, before you judge a genre and label as "shit" you better make sure you listen to the best it has to offfer.

Pyro 09-28-2002 06:16 PM

Ja Rule, he is the downfall of what I call rap...Limp Bizkit is like Nu Mental, or Rap Metal or whatever the hell these "new" stuff is...personally the only bandI like that does stuff like that is Linkin Park

Ja Rule is like an older version of lil bow wow.

I still prefer hip hop beats over techno beats.

I like most rock. Offspring, System of a down, Hoobastank os ok and so as trust company.

09-28-2002 08:04 PM

I also like songs which have modern rock and country music mixed togethr.

Tripper 09-28-2002 08:20 PM

You guys are confused....I wouldn't call Ja Rule rap. He doesn't rap...His music is just hiphop music. And he is a baby-faced bitch.

To find some real hiphop emcees, deejays, you'll probably have to search the underground or true school areas of hiphop.
Fine examples of all-round brilliant hiphop:

BlackStar (Talib Kweli & Mos Def, DJ Hi-Tek)
People Under The Stairs (Thes One & Double K)
Lone Catalysts (J.Rawls & J.Sands)
J-Live
Afu-Ra
Rakim
Slum Village
The Roots
Typical Cats
Ugly Duckling
Cali Agents (Rasco & Planet Asia)
Masterminds
Pharaohe Monch
Pete Rock, and anything involving the man.
Wu-Tang (36 Chambers best...The brilliance of raw hiphop)
ALL RAWKUS RECORDS.

Then you have lame-ass, fag-tag-rags:

Ja Rule
DMX
Nelly
Master P
C-Murder
Eminem (He may be skilled in some areas, but I hate his pop-e beats, and his stoopid whiney voice.)

[quote="Art Attack":3ca65]Happy Hardcore is ok but its too fast of techno, I love techno but i'll stick to Paul Van Dyke and his 2 hour techno songs cool:[/quote:3ca65]

paul van dyke plays trance

Recycled Spooge 09-29-2002 09:44 PM

Technically, trance is techno, but now techno is its own genere, so the word techno is usually replaced with "electronica", or "electronic music" or what not.

What are you talking about?? Man....I can't agree with you on this one....Sure Old Skool is the beginning, and I'm a sucka for De La Soul, tribe, Kurtis Blow, Jungle Bros, Public Enemy, Eric B, Rakim and what not....But you can't possibly say that new hiphop and rap are just a wasted genre?? I think your nutz.

Innoxx 09-30-2002 01:21 AM

Some good rappers out there, like K-OS, jurassic 5, swollen members, black eyed peas, and such but other than that the rest is crap, like hardcore rap, WTF!!? i can't relate to a big black guy who yells various obscenities into a mic.

Recycled Spooge 09-30-2002 03:04 PM

Pyro-I'm waiting.
