^^^ lol, for once I've gotta agree.

I played the Xboz 360 version of Cod2 and Target and the demo at home, and truthfully, didnt see all too huge a reason to spend $300 bucks on some spruced up sheet of metal.

The only thing I noticed differently was that when you were hit, the reddening effect looked sharper... but beyond that, I couldnt notice a thing.

Changing graphics options also changed their names? What, is a Z hard to render?

Zappalla > Emslie

Just go back to school already, you dont get a weekend.

Akuma 12-03-2005 03:07 PM

CoD2 isn't a good example because it looks like shit even with DX9 on.

9mm BeRetTa 12-03-2005 06:51 PM

I disgaree, I think CoD2 looks real good on DX9 settings, even dx7 settings all on high. Not that big a change though from dx7 to dx9, just seems like there's more textures and particles in the air.

DX9 = slightly better DX7

I'm not sure where you are seeing that it looks good then.

Jin-Roh 12-06-2005 04:01 PM

Is there any particular 6600 I should get? - And one that I can find for less than $130.00?

Akuma 12-06-2005 04:32 PM

BFG and eVGA are concidered the 2 best manufactures. I'd highly recommend that you get a GT, but those are probably out of your price range

Nyck 12-06-2005 06:39 PM

I got the evga 128 Mb 6600GT

I got mine for 159.99 with 20 dollar rebate

AND what is the difference between AGP 4x/8x Pro and AGP 4x/8x? Are they compatible with each other?

Akuma 12-07-2005 04:36 PM

AGP cards will work in an AGP Pro slot. Nothing was ever made to only work in an AGP Pro slot though.

KTOG 12-07-2005 05:55 PM

Trying to upgrade my PC and keeping it under 600 bucks. These are the things I whipped together so take a peek and give me some comments on it. Anything not on there I don't need.

You video card link links to a A64 3200+.

Don't get the 256MB 6600, waste of money. Get a 6600GT 128MB instead.

guarnere 12-07-2005 09:27 PM

What would be the best card for my computer...

AMD Athalon 64bit 3200+
I will also have 2 gigs of Corsair ram...

EDIT: I have AGP by the way.

What would be the best bet for a video card that would last a while with new games?

depends how much your willing to spend, 6600GT or 6800 would be the better nvidia ones. Not sure about ATI though

just my 1st guess. The plates or your HD grinding together. I would DEF look into getting a new HD stat, because that is the sign of impending failure.

Gonzo 12-10-2005 11:07 AM

i have 2 hard drives is there a way i can check to see which one it is?

m00nraker 12-10-2005 01:40 PM

Just use one at a time, then replace the one thats making the noise eek:

could be his fans rubbing

anti 12-10-2005 03:53 PM

dying fans seem to make grinding noises, but it could be alot of things. i would check the hd's though, and then just inspect every fan by unplugging it - run computer - see if sound is still being made.
