I never said I agreed with the reaction of those Muslims - What I DID say is basically that you're asking for it if you provoke these muslims by delibrately reprinting the images inspite (I haven't heard any valid reason for reprinting the image, except to make a "point" about "free speech") of that reaction. Now the editors etc have to go into hiding. I wonder why that is?

The reason why there was such a strong reaction in the middle east over other Muslim areas of the world is because that those muslims are already pissed the fuck off at westerners for all the shit they've been stirring in their countries....

My point is that this came at a REALLY bad time for western-middle eastern relations, and anymore shit like this is going to send the relationship to a place where it can't be sorted out. The fact that the people that reprinted the image did so knowing that is just silly, and foolish - They put all their countrymen at risk just to "make a point."

It may sound like I'm justifying the reaction of the muslims - I'm not. I'm making a point that rather than making attempts to revive the relationship - These people are just making things worse.

The reason things have been bad with the middle east has alot to do with the way western societies and colonial empires have been infiltrating their politics for the last couple of hundred years. I pretty much agree w/ Cobra - The Muslims you know of here in the US are not the same from the Middle East ... the ones you find there are assholes. I went to Israel in the summer of 2000 and that is the impresion I got from them. ALL OF THEM.

I have family in Israel that had to leave cause of fear from Muslims ... They say that they are peacefull, but that is only if you are in their religion otherwise you must die or something ... like that movie The Chronicles of Riddick ... but these are The Chronicles of Muhammed.
