not really. it will be like going from extremely wide angle to just a bit less wide angle. the 28-80 is pretty much what i have (im 28-75) and it will suit you all around. after shooting with it so long though im looking into getting something like a 18-25 for wide angle exclusively.

anti which lense should I get, the 28-80mm or the 18-55mm? I am leaning twords the 28-80 because I like a larger zoom, but I am wondering if there are any other perks to the 18-55 besides a more wide angle.

The 18-55 will be good for landscapes (wide 18) and portraits (50).

If you need the extra zoom and not a very wide angle, then get the 28-80.

word beer:

my basic thought process towards lens are:

18-25 for wide angle covering landscapes and others
25-75 for everything in between, all around shooting
70-300 for zoom

these are what i hope to obtain. all nikon lenses, and maybe at a later date ill replace the d70. i think that should keep me in the loop for at least 5 more years.

They got goat at the City Market here in KC. A whole goat ready for a spit only $4.99/lb. They got LA shrimp 4-5ct per lb for 5.99/lb. I love that place.
