Not sure where it was discovered, but my take on it is that, whilst the discovery of DNA is significant as it opens up all new areas of science that were never previously touched, let's not go over-board.
DNA is significant but it was significant before humans were even created and it's no more or less significant now we know how it works. And the day we are eliminated from existence DNA will continue on without us. So, humans "discovering" it is only significant to some people who think it is significant. To a lot of people it means jack. Just like ANZAC day is significant to Australians and New Zealanders, and Indipendance day significant to Americans and my birthday significant to me. I wouldn't expect anyone to find my birthday significant. But then I wouldn't expect an Australian to find ANZAC day insignificant. A little respect and decorum didn't hurt anyone. Natch. |
