A lot of kids eat shit for lunch every day at school. I would probably support a movement to ban pop machines from being put into schools, but that will never happen because the schools get so much revenue from them.

Not true at my school soda machines are not allowed to be on or sell soda's till after 3, and the school times end at 2:15 so you would have to get water or milk.

i was thinking of this thread last night as i sipped on a hi C juice box. I flipped over the 6.75 ounce box and found it contained 25 grams of sugar...

*ninja edit* Found some info on the juice box.

And Mt Dew
Mountain Dew (8 fl. oz)

Calories 110
Total Fats (g) 0
Sodium (mg) 50
Potassium (mg) 0
Total Carbohydrates (g) 31
Sugars (g) 31
Protein (g) 0
Caffeine (mg) 37

So if you take the 25g of sugar divide by 6.75 you get the number of grams in 1 ounce. Multiply by 8 which is what the Mt dew is at and you get 29.624g; round up (like they would on a can) and you get 30. So why the fuck isnt Hi C getting a warning label?

I mean heaven forbid you drink these instead of soda. [url:2571a]http://www.minutemaid.com/products/hic_fruit_drinks/hic_drink_box/wild_cherry.shtml[/url:2571a] 27g per 6.75 ounce; 32g of suger per 8 ounce, beating Mt dew. Granted a full 12 ounce can of dew has something on the order of 46g, but who the hell only drinks one of those little fucking things.

I call it fizzy pop.

I don't like the taste of water so I usually drink still drinks (oasis, flavoured water, cordial etc) Its not often i have any fizzy pop, most of it tastes shite anyway. Only fizzy drinks i have are usually fanta orange/fruit twist.

KTOG 07-15-2005 08:17 AM

I just drink coffee (black), apple juice, orange juice, and man juice. So i guess i'm not too bad off.

Crazy Canadian 07-15-2005 12:28 PM

why not put labels on beer instead of pop, its more dangerous than pop

Tripper 07-15-2005 05:24 PM

Yeah I've limited my drinking habits to milk drinks and juices with no added sugars....I've always liked a good OJ more than a glass of coke though....

Only time I drink fizzies is when I get on the woodys bourbon and colas...
